Color looks good on you.

Hair dye colors 2016 are so hot, and you don’t have to be labeled a rebel to brighten up your look. For the most part you just need to know what hair dye colors you’re seeking, as you work with your stylist or go the D.I.Y. route in the comfort of your casa. From gray to pink to mild highlights to platinum blonde, there’s literally something for everyone as you add a pop of color to your hair while testing out the latest hair trend. Read on to discover some of our favorite hair dye colors that we’ve been loving this year.

Fun Hair Dye Colors to Try

Go bold with pink hair this year.

1. Pink Hair

There are many iterations of pink hair that we’ve seen on the streets of NYC. You can opt to cold bold with a vibrant bubblegum pink hue or something more subtle like a rose gold. It really depends on your comfort level and how long you want to stay with this look.

2. Gray Hair

Everyone seems to be going gray in 2016 and we aren’t talking about via the natural route. Granny hair is all the rage as those in their 20s and 30s are opting to dye their hair silver, silver/purple, silver/blue and icy grey. We love this look and although we’ve seen it on every hair color, it really works best if you have blonde or very light brown hair.

3. Platinum Blonde

On the opposite side of the spectrum is platinum blonde. More and more women are dyeing their locks a striking white blonde. While this takes a ton of time to get this color, it does look stunning and might just create a new persona for you as you embark through the year as a blonde. Be sure to stock on purple shampoo like the Bed Head by TIGI Dumb Blonde Purple Toning Shampoo.

5. Red Auburn Hair

We just adore this rich color that reminds us of the lovechild of red and brown. With this hair color, you can opt for cinnamon, copper, russet and more as you enhance what you have and make your hair pop. Be sure to also use a color-safe shampoo and conditioner like TRESemmé Color Revitalize Shampoo and TRESemmé Color Revitalize Conditioner whose formulas can help you to retain your hair color for up to 8 weeks!

6. Balayage

Highlighting is not going away anytime soon and for 2015 through 2016 it has been all about the balayage technique. The look features subtle highlighting that gives off a sun-kissed look of color that’s swept onto your strands using a freehand technique. This is ideal for someone who wants to give their hair some life without an all-over dye job.

7. Chocolate Brown

Then there are those of us that love their dark locks. We’ve seen a ton of rich and vibrant browns on the scene, with our favorite being the dramatic chocolate brown that can veer on looking black. If you have naturally light hair, going dark can be less of a process as you add in color. Removing it, though is a whole other issue!
