Clean, chic and oh, so beautiful.
We just came back from the incredible Naeem Khan show for New York Fashion Week, and boy are we impressed! Featuring an ode to bright colors, lace and fringe, the fashions were beautifully complimented by the clean hair look that the models adorned down the runway. An ode to the late ’70s Halston girl (an inspiration of Khan’s), the hairstyle was signified by its graceful and clean look that was aligned with a laid-back ’70s vibe. Before the models took to the catwalk, All Things Hair had the chance to chat with TRESemmé Stylist Jeanine Syfu backstage to get some insider tips on how this look was created. Read on to learn more about how you can create the clean hair look at home.
Get the Clean Hair Look from NYFW
Step 1: Prep damp hair.
Prep damp hair with some of the TRESemmé Tres Two Extra Firm Control Gel.
Step 2: Blow-dry top layer.
Once your hair is 90% dry, blow-dry the top layer with a round brush, taking large sections and lifting up the hair at the root for volume. Rotate the brush to ensure that the ends are clean for a polished look.
Step 3: Clip hair.
Use large barrel curls to set the hair. Repeat this process throughout mid-lengths, and polish andy ends with a large round brush.
Step 4: Release curls.
Release the barrel curls once cool and brush all of your hair back. Then, create a clean center part with a tail comb.
Step 5: Lock in the look.
Finish the look by using some of the TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray. Apply the spray to the roots to tame flyaways while leaving the lengths natural with movement.
