Your seamless guide to getting your hair back in shape.
What you’ll need
If you’re home for the holidays and have some downtime on your hands, this will be a great time to get your hair care routine streamlined for the winter season. No more spending time fighting with tangles in the shower: You can now allocate that precious time to deep conditioning while you paint your nails or sip hot chocolate. To help you take care of your hair before heading back into the office, we’ve curated a seamless washing routine to bring your hair back to life after the Thanksgiving holiday and long weekend.
Simple Post-Holiday Hair Care Routine
Step 1: Detangle.
Before hopping into the shower and washing your hair, detangle first. Use the Nexxus Ibiza CX2 Paddle Hair Brush to gently comb through your hair from roots to ends. Oh, and take the brush into the shower with you— you’ll see why later!
Step 2: Hop in the shower and get your rinse on.
Saturate your hair with water, then use your shampoo to cleanse. If your goal is to get rid of product buildup, use a clarifying shampoo like Suave Essentials Daily Clarifying Shampoo. Otherwise use a moisturizing shampoo like Suave Professionals Deep Moisture Shampoo to clean dry, cold-weather hair. Massage your shampoo into your roots, then rinse.
Step 3: Condition, then detangle (again).
Apply Suave Essentials Daily Clarifying Conditioner or Suave Professionals Deep Moisture Conditioner to condition your hair. Use your brush to spread your conditioner throughout your strands and to remove any tangles that may have formed during the shampooing process.
Step 4: Blot hair dry.
A word of advice: Stop using your regular towels to dry your hair. Use a microfiber towel, a paper towel or even an old t-shirt instead. Regular towels are harsh and may cause damage to the hair cuticle. For curly hair types, opt for a hair plopping system instead.
Step 5: Use a hair oil when styling.
To retain moisture in your hair, opt for using an oil. Apply Nexxus New York Salon Care Oil Infinite Hair Oil to the mid-lengths to ends of your damp hair and style as usual.
