If you’re anything like us you’ve been glued to your sofa at 9pm every night, waiting for the next instalment of Love Island drama. But the show isn’t all about dumpings and re-coupling, it’s also a great source of inspiration when it comes to our hair.

And one girl, in particular, has been rocking the most flawless array of hairstyles, from braids to waves and our personal fave, the high bun – yes we’re talking about Molly-Mae. From sitting poolside in the day to snuggling up with boyfriend Tommy Fury in the eve, Molly-Mae’s high bun is her go-to hairstyle that we all want to copy, and now we can.

Watch Molly-Mae recreate her now-iconic high bun below and read on for a step-by-step tutorial.

Step 1: Shake it out

Use your fingers to shake out your hair and to get rid of any parting.

Step 2: Flip your hair forward

As you want your bun to sit on the top of your head, flip your hair forward so your hair is facing downwards and use your fingers to ruffle your hair.

From here gather your hair together at the top of your head as you would when creating a high ponytail.

Step 3: Wrap your hair

While holding your ponytail with one hand, flip your head back and use your other hand to wrap the length of your hair around the base of what will be your bun.

Step 4: Secure

After the lengths of your hair have been wrapped, hold the shape with one hand. Use a hairband to secure your look and any bobby pins if needed for shorter layers.

Editor’s tip: For a smoother look, tame any flyaways with the VO5 Invisible Firm Hold Hairspray. The ultra-fine, fast-drying spray offers a medium hold with UV and humidity protection and a gorgeous coconut fragrance.
