Men’s hair trends: 2016
This year, a number of top male celebrities and athletes (such as Ryan Lochte and Aaron Ramsey) decided to make a big style statement, by opting for grey hair. Although many were unsure of the look at first, it soon gained momentum to become a huge trend in both the men’s and women’s style stakes – and it certainly shows no signs of letting up anytime soon!
So, whether you decide to colour your mane a silvery-grey hue, or even embrace your strands by going grey gracefully, you can rest assured that you’ll look on point with one of the top men’s hair trends for 2016.
Scoff at this look all you want, but the man bun has been – and will continue to be – one of the biggest hair trends for stylish men all around the world! Before hit TV show phenomenons such as Game of Thrones and Vikings, braids were probably thought of as female-exclusive hairstyles. But with these shows full of men’s Scandi-inspired updos and long, braided manes, it’s no wonder that they’ve risen though the ranks, to become one of the coolest looks of the year!
So, whether you’ve got super long tresses, or even a medium-length mane, there are plenty of man braid variations to try, that also happens to make a neat addition (or alternative) to a man bun! But if you’re not completely sold on the idea, take a look at the pros and cons of the man braid with our article, right here.
Looking to embrace the hair colour of 2016? Well, if you’ve got eagle eyes for celebrity style, then you’ll have spotted bleach blonde locks on the heads of Brooklyn Beckham, Neymar, and Lionel Messi this year, with all of these stars deciding taking the hair colour plunge.
Editor’s tip: Just remember, when dyeing your hair, switch up your usual wash and care set for one that has been formulated with dyed tresses in mind – we suggest trying the Dove Colour Care Shampoo and Conditioner. The formula includes Vibrant Colour Lock technology, which helps to keep your colour vibrant for up to 8 weeks!
If you’ve got ultra curly or black hair, then you’ll be pleased to hear, that working with your natural texture has become a hot style in itself! Yep, that’s right, simply by embracing your hair in all its natural glory, you can achieve a seriously cool and undone look.
