Part your hair.

Before you start, wash your hair with the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Restoring Shampoo and Conditioner to smooth and straighten your locks. Then, section hair on the heaviest side horizontally to the front of your ear.

Keep this section of hair separate, and gather the rest into a sleek low ponytail – you can use hairspray to help smooth your hair into place. Secure your ponytail at the nape of your neck.

Tie a ponytail.

With your hair secure, tie a clear elastic at the end of your ponytail – this will make it easier to roll in the next step.

Roll and tuck.

To create the base of your chignon bun, carefully roll and tuck the end of the ponytail until you reach the nape of your neck, then secure it at the base using bobby pins.

If you’re worried that one or two bobby pins might not be enough to hold your hair, don’t be afraid to use a few more – no one will see them!

Conceal your hairband.

Now it’s time to hide your hairband and create the chic chignon effect. Remember that section of hair you left out earlier? Smooth it back and conceal your hair band by diagonally crossing the section over your fastened hair.

Wrap the hair around the base of your chignon, using bobby pins underneath to hold the hair in place.
