GQ Awards 2016: A round-up of the best women’s hairstyles
And the award for best hair goes to...
Last night saw the star-studded GQ Awards 2016 take place at the Tate Modern, and boy oh boy was it a good one. Not only were there a whole host of crush-worthy men scooping up awards that recognise their talents, but there were also a plenty of women in attendance, too.
Now, of course, the All Things Hair team were drooling over the glamorous looks debuted by female stars, such as Bella Hadid and Winnie Harlow, so we decided to do a round-up of the best hairstyles from the event, just for your viewing pleasure. Have a scroll through our gallery above to see our favourite ‘dos from the GQ Awards 2016, and read on to get the lowdown on each look.
Women’s hairstyles we’re crushing on from the GQ Awards 2016
Model Winnie Harlow always looks stunning, but for last night’s GQ Awards 2016, she really took it up a notch. She showed up on the red carpet sporting chic, grey-silver hair (which is totally on-trend, BTW). Choosing to focus all of the attention on her new hair colour, she ditched all the fancy frills and left her mane straight, and styled it with a deep side part. Sometimes simplicity is the key to a really memorable look!
Singer Louisa Rose Allen (AKA Foxes), opted for a bouncy blow-out to show off her shiny ombre lob. We also love how she parted her eyebrow-grazing fringe in the middle – it’s so simple, yet oh-so-chic!
Tip: To get shimmering locks like Louisa’s, give the TIGI Headrush Shine Hairspray (£17.50*) a go. It’ll ramp up your hair’s sheen, while ensuring it stays red carpet-worthy all night long.
Aicha McKenzie went all out for the awards ceremony and styled her hair into an ultra long ponytail braid. Not only did this make the perfect hairstyle to tame her natural hair, but her dark locks provided a striking contrast to her crisp white outfit, too. We also can’t help but love how she matched her droplet gold earrings with her necklace. Lookin’ good, Aicha!
Updos make for the perfect hairstyle for an awards ceremony, right? Of course, it was Gizzi Erskine who went for the biggest updo of all – the vintage-inspired bouffant. Gizzi seems to follow the mantra that bigger is better, and in this case, we’d have to agree. She accessorised her hair with an ornate black and white beaded headband that perfectly complemented her sheer dress.

If you’re after a Hollywood-inspired hairstyle, look no further than actress Sai Bennett’s GQ Awards look. Her mid-length brunette hair was styled into soft, romantic waves, flanked by a dramatic sweeping fringe, resulting in a look that was utterly gorgeous! To complete her glamorous ‘do, she applied a slick of red lipstick and some amber droplet earrings.
Tip: If you want to recreate Sai’s Hollywood waves, we suggest using the Toni&Guy Professional Extreme Rollers to do the job – and all from the comfort of your own home!
British boxer and gold medallist, Nicola Adams, showed the boys how it’s done and rocked a super edgy quiff with an undercut. Keeping her makeup minimal by opting for a rosy cheek and lip, she kept all of the attention on her sky-high hair and totally slayed at the GQ Awards 2016.
Tip: To copy Nicola’s dramatic high top, use a small amount of the VO5 Classic Styling Soft Moulding Wax (£2.99*) to achieve height and add texture. Easy!
