Party-proof your hair with creation hairsprays

I would say use creation sprays to help party-proof your hair. Use it before and after, because if you are tonging your hair or straightening it to get texture into your hair, using a creation spray first will just help ‘seal’ that texture in. It’ll make it last longer, but you can still brush it and make it soft, yet it will still hold. – Aaron Carlo, TRESemmé UK Hair Ambassador

Creation hairsprays are great for fashioning and fixing hairstyles, as they’re formulated to be sprayed on many times, to create layers of lightweight hold. Try the TRESemmé Runway Max Volume Creation Hairspray – it’ll make it easier to build up volume at the roots, and give your ‘do plenty of lasting body. And if you still don’t know the difference between ‘creation’ and ‘firm hold’ hairsprays, then swot up by reading our guide, here!

Curly-haired girls: Put down the ‘grip-giving’ products

Avoid products that have alcohol or anything with grip, as it dries out your curls. [Instead], use things that are very moisturising. I love the [TRESemmé] Botanique range because it hasn’t got any parabens or silicones, so it’s not going to just coat the curl, it’s actually going to nourish the curl. – Aaron Carlo

For curls and coils, it’s more difficult for sebum to travel down the hair shaft, which means it’s more susceptible to becoming dry, brittle and prone to breakage. A simple way to limit this is to keep your hair moisturised and avoid products that will dry out your strands. We suggest using hair oils like the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Nourishing Treatment for periodic hair treatments, as well as leave-in conditioners to help keep your tresses’ moisture levels up.

Twists and braids make pretty party ‘dos

Anything to do with twists are really big for this autumn/winter. Any sort of twists or knots, or even twist braids, because it’s cool and fresh, but doesn’t look too glamorous. – Aaron Carlo

With thanks to celebs like Karlie Kloss and Kim Kardashian, it’s safe to say that the unofficial hairstyle of 2016 has to be the braid. With that in mind, now’s the perfect time to rock a beautiful braided ‘do for your next swanky soiree. From the intricate braided bun to cute cornrows, or even a fancy French plait, your options are practically endless!
