How to curl short hair with Zoe Newlove
Wash and blow-dry.
Begin by washing your hair with the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Shampoo and Conditioner, to help make your hair appear silkier, look shinier and more nourished. Once you’ve done this, blow-dry your hair until it’s straight.
Section and curl.
Now that your hair is dry, grab a pair of straighteners. Take a 1-2 inch-wide section of hair, and starting from halfway down, feed your strands through them.
The trick is to keep the curl going in the same direction, so twist the straighteners away from your face, so that your hair is gently wrapped around it. Then, pull your straighteners down until you reach the ends. This should leave you with a nice, bouncy curl.
Apply serum and tease curls.
After you’ve finished curling your hair, run the VO5 Smoothly Does It Heat Protect Serum through your mane. This shine-inducing serum will leave your hair feeling touchably-soft and make it easier for you to brush your hair, too. So, take a brush and gently tease your curls to make them a little looser.
Accessorize and secure with bobby pins.
Now, to really get into the Gatsby spirit, take your favourite accessory (one that’s stretchy, preferably) and apply it over your head so that it sits stretched at the top of your forehead, just below your hairline.
Then, gather small sections of hair at the front, twist them upwards and using the hairband as guide, secure your hair with bobby pins. Continue tucking all of the loose hair upwards into the headband until you’ve formed an updo. Finish with a spritz of the TRESemmé Ultimate Hold Hairspray.
Final look.
Et voila! Now you know how to curl short hair and how to create a glam Gatsby-inspired ‘do, there are no more excuses not to get all dolled up for the next party you’re going to.
