Red ombre: How to rock it like a pro
Hair Colour Base
Of course, there are ways to rock a red hue and do it subtly, but then, why would you want to? Our advice for the season, is to go bold, or go home – so think fiery blocks of burgundy, scarlet, or tomato reds! Note: the colour you opt for on the ends, is determined by the colour you start with at the roots.
Tip: If you’re working with naturally dark hair, look to deep reds to complement your locks, while blondes should stick to the lighter end of the spectrum, for a softer, yet high-impact look. Credit: @agajarosz
Reverse Ombre
Ombre traditionally means going from dark to light – but we were never one to stick to the rules, and neither should you! Instead of following suit, why not mix things up a bit and work a light to dark look, with ‘reverse ombre’?
This is a good technique to use if you have a lighter base tone, as you can maintain more of your natural hair colour, and just work your chosen red ombre hue from the mid-lengths to the ends. We suggest opting for pale pinks, tantalising tangerines, and cool corals, as these will melt seamlessly into your mane! Credit: @eveningarwen
Maintenance
We’re not going to lie: like with all things worth having, red ombre hair takes work. Don’t worry, though, because we have your back. All it takes to ensure that your flaming locks are kept in tip-top condition, is to invest in a shampoo and conditioner specifically designed for coloured hair! Credit: @dajanajurczak
Editor’s tips: Our favourite colour care duo has to be the TRESemmé Colour Revitalise Vibrance Protection Shampoo and Conditioner, which will help keep your dyed tresses vibrant for longer.
