Can’t decide what to go as for Halloween? Well, for a fun and spooky style (and one that you can whip together in a matter of minutes!), look no further than a zombie.
The best thing about dressing up as the living dead is that it’s just so simple: throw on any old rags, smear some makeup on your face, perfect that painful day-after-the-gym walk and you’ll look the part!

Zombie hair: How to create it
The key to nailing the zombie hair look is to create the illusion that you’ve just rolled out of a grave (or your bed). So this should be easy for all you #IWokeUpLikeThis lovers out there!
Step 1: Begin by spritzing some VO5 Refresh Dry Shampoo into your hair before styling, ensuring that you focus on the crown of your head. Applying dry shampoo will help to provide that matte effect often seen with zombie hair, plus, it’ll help make your hair easier to tease.
Step 2: Section your hair into 3 horizontal layers, on both sides of your head. Clip the middle and top section out of the way for now, and leave the bottom loose.
Step 3: Begin backcombing the bottom section of hair using your teasing comb. To backcomb, start at the bottom of your strands, and lightly brush your comb towards your scalp.
Repeat this motion several times until the hair has become ultra volumised and messy-looking.
Step 4: Once you’ve backcombed the entire bottom section, release the middle section of hair that you clipped away, and repeat step 3. Then, do the same for the top section of hair, and repeat on the other side of your head.
Step 5: At this stage, you should be left with a cloud of messy, backcombed strands! Now all you have to do is gather it into a big, bouffant updo, by creating the shape with your hands and pinning your hair in place with some bobby pins.
