woman with ultra long black curly dreadlocks

This video of a man seeing his wife without dreads for the first time is going viral (for all the right reasons)

We'll be expecting a similar reaction to all of our haircuts from now on.

Sure, there’s more to life than hair but, as such a huge part of our identities, changing it up after years of the same style can be pretty nerve wracking. Which is why this video of a husband seeing his wife’s new hair for the first time is the heartwarming nudge we needed!

Twitter user @praizekirkwood shared the video of her mother, who has worn dreadlocks for 20 years, revealing her new buzzed hairdo to her husband and – without spoiling it too much for you – his reaction is nothing short of adorable.

So if you’re having a bad day, you need to watch this. Actually, scrap that, even if you’re having a great day, everyone needs to see this!

This man just saw his wife without her dreads for the first time in 20 years

After the Twitter user’s mother steps out nervously to reveal her newly shaved head, her husband exclaims “Oh wow, oh you are so hot! You look like a Hollywood star, you look so awesome!” We’re not crying, you are!

The video has racked up over 5 million views and almost 100,000 retweets in just a few days, with the comments are coming in thick and fast, too.

“This is sooo cute! It’s so empowering seeing women embrace their beauty! I have such an attachment to my hair seeing things like this is inspiring honestly! Especially seeing the positive feedback from your dad!!! This video is so darling I’m so glad you shared!!!”

“Aww thanks for sharing. My mom has contemplating cutting off her locks (10+ years) but she’s too nervous.”

So, what can we learn from this? For one: buzz cuts look absolutely phenomenal, and two: we all need to find someone who reacts to our haircuts like this total cheerleader of a husband.
