Tibi SS17: Are belts the latest hair accessories trend?
Belts are the new hairbands, didn't you know?
Just when we thought we’d seen it all, we discovered that belts (yes, belts!), seem to be the latest hair accessories of New York Fashion Week. That’s right, models at the Tibi SS17 show were sent down the runway flaunting sleek, low ponytails, which were secured at the nape with a belt. How very fashion-forward!
While belts in themselves aren’t particularly groundbreaking, wearing them on top of your ponytail definitely is. So, if you’re intrigued to know more about this inventive hair trend, then you can get the lowdown on our favourite belted hairstyles below!
Tibi SS17 redefines your go-to look with belted ponytails
At the Tibi SS17 show, models were sent down the runway sporting belts, which were wrapped neatly around the base of their ponytails to conceal the hairband. We know it may sound extreme, but just look at how quirky the hairstyles are!
One of our favourites from the show was the ‘do pictured above, where the model’s long, platinum blonde hair had been paired with a white and rose gold belt. The combination of the bleached hair and the delicate rose gold from the belt complemented each other perfectly!
Different models were seen wearing a variety of coloured belts, making each and every models’ hairstyle unique. The addition of a nude belt and it’s loose ends, as seen above, is a simple, yet stylish way of updating your ponytail – because as we all know, ponytails can sometimes be a little, well, dull!
As well as varying in colour, the belts also varied in length and thickness. Take the above belted ponytail for example: the model’s light brown hair boldly contrasts the dark black belt. Plus, the thickness of the belt cinches in the models’ ponytail, making it look super sleek.
Tip: If you can’t get your hands on a belt, you can substitute it for another hair accessory, like a ribbon! It’s not as fashion-forward but it certainly gives a cute finish to your look.
