The best Spice Girls hair looks from Instagram
Baby Spice: Pigtails
Want to perfect your pigtails à la Emma Bunton (AKA Baby Spice)? After creating soft curls with a curling wand, start by using the tip of your comb to create a centre parting from the front of your head, down to the nape of your neck.
Once you have divided your mane into two equal parts, gather your first section of hair and secure it with a hairband, creating your first high pigtail. Repeat this process on the other side. Credit: @seaweedgirls
Editor’s tip: Pull out some wispy tendrils at the front for an authentic ’90s look, and finish the hairstyle off with a mist of the VO5 Tame and Shine Spray. This spray will leave your hair sleek and glossy while reducing frizz, static and flyaways!
Posh Spice: Sleek bob
Want your bob to look as sleek as Victoria Beckham’s ‘do circa 1996? Just evenly apply the TIGI Catwalk Sleek Blow Out Balm to your locks before straightening it.
This miracle conditioning formula will help you achieve ultra smooth and glossy ’90s hair while guarding it against heat up to 230°C. Once you’ve applied the product, you’ll be ready to straighten your tresses with your favourite straightener.

Scary Spice’s twist-out
If you’re after gravity-defying curls, then a twist-out is the ideal way of getting your curls perfectly defined like Mel B. A little heads up though: a twist-out requires a little preparation as it needs to be done the night before. Credit: @tataliacardoso
Spritz your hair with TIGI S-Factor Papaya Leave-In Moisture Spray and apply the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Nourishing Treatment to help keep it soft, supple and moisturised. Then take a one inch-section of hair (you can start from anywhere), divide it into two parts and simply twist them together.
Continue this process until you’ve twisted all of your hair. Wrap your tresses with a silk scarf before going to bed, and then in the morning, simply unravel your twists. Use an afro pick to fluff out your curls and your Scary Spice-inspired twist-out is complete!

Ginger Spice’s bouffant
When Geri Halliwell debuted her layered hairstyle, everyone went green with envy. And although we’re not suggesting you should all rush out to dye your hair ginger, you can easily recreate her ’90s version of the ’60s bouffant ‘do from the comfort of your own home. Credit: @mod_millie
What’s the key to getting this look right? Just add texture to your mane by teasing the crown of your hair and don’t forget to use straighteners to flick the ends of your hair.
Finish the look by using a volume-boosting hairspray, like the TONI&GUY Glamour Firm Hold Hairspray to help tame any stray strands and hold your ’90s hairstyle in place all day long.
Sporty Spice: High ponytail
Time-poor? Or just not that confident with hair-styling? Don’t worry, just take a leaf out of Mel C’s book and opt for a sleek and sporty high ponytail. Warm a scoop of the VO5 Classic Styling Soft Moulding Wax in between your palms and apply it near your hairline (this will help manage any pesky flyaways).
Use a hairband to secure your tresses into a high ponytail (or if you’re feeling really ’90s, a scrunchie). Now your hair is cartwheels-ready! Credit: @young.godess
