Classic sleek hair

Let’s kick things off with a classic, shall we? Seen in the glory days of the ’80s, this gelled and slicked back hairstyle is all about a control with minimal movement.

Editor’s tip: To recreate this fierce look, apply some of the VO5 Mega Hold Gel Spray onto your dry or damp hair. Then brush your hair back and create a tight, low ponytail or bun.

PS: statement earrings, red lipstick and shoulder pads are optional.

Side parting

While the traditional, sleek hairstyle is all about the pulled back, sleek look, we are also really in love with the defined side parting seen this season at NYFW. Now all you have to do is decide whether you want to rock it on the left or the right side!

Sleek ‘do with side braid

This modern look combines the sleek hair trend with a pretty plait – and we think it’ll look practically perfect on ladies with long tresses! Just create a side ponytail and then simply twist or braid your hair.

Don’t forget to accessorise your hair with pretty hair accessories and to securing your plait with a discreet, clear hairband.

Editor’s tip: Not a big fan of gel? Don’t worry: there are other ways to achieve sleek hairstyles. Apply a few pumps of hair oil, like the TONI&GUY Casual Radiating Tropical Elixir to your hair.

This will make your hair looks glossy and super slick. Then generously spritz your hair with the VO5 Sleek Creation Hairspray to give your tresses a ‘gel-like finish and hold. Easy peasy.

Middle Part

Not partial to the side parting? But don’t worry, you can always rock a middle parting instead! Think about complementing versatile, oval-shaped faces by quickly working this parting with your sleek ponytail – easy-peasy, eh?
