From sleek updos to gothic-inspired manes, discover our favourite looks from the party of the season.
This week, one of the hottest parties of the season took place right here in London. Yep, you guessed it, it was the Serpentine Summer Party 2016. And as you can imagine, it was a star-studded bash, with attendees that included Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams, Kate Moss and Sienna Miller, as per usual.
But while everyone had their eyes on those beautiful cocktail hour-perfect outfits and, of course, the stunning new Pavilion – which was designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) this year – we, as usual, couldn’t stop gazing at the utterly gorgeous hairstyles sported by the likes of Thandie Newton and Laura Bailey.
From sleek updos and cool braids to gothic-inspired manes, discover our favourite hairstyles from the Serpentine Summer Party 2016 now, below.
Serpentine summer party 2016: Our favourite hairstyles
Maisie Williams
Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams debuted a pretty cool hair transformation at the event, to say the least. She swapped her trademark brown tresses for a much darker, edgier mane. In some photos, her hair looked black, but in others, we were given a glimpse of its true ombre hues that graduated from dark purple to sultry petrol blue.
To top it all off, she completed the look with a black lace choker and strong brows. Now that’s what we call gothic chic.
Editor’s tip: If you love Maisie’s look enough to recreate it yourself, ensure to invest in a colour care system to keep your own hue looking fresh! We put our trust into the TRESemmé Colour Revitalise Vibrance Protection Shampoo and Conditioner, helping to gently cleanse and moisturise strands.
Thandie Newton
This year, Thandie Newton rocked super long box braids to the Serpentine Summer Party – and looked absolutely fabulous, we must say! She let her braids fall down her back and swept some of them over one shoulder.
To keep most of the attention on her luscious mane, she kept her makeup minimal, opting for a classic red lip and pared-down eyes. Wit-woo!
Leomie Anderson
British model Leomie Anderson rocked a super high, super tight top knot for the summer do of the year. In a cross between the sleek and messy look, Leomie’s top knot was neat, but also featured a few loose tendrils near the front to soften it up a bit.
If you ask us, it was the perfect, effortlessly chic updo to complement her slinky black cocktail dress.
Editor’s tip: If you want to ensure your natural hair is looking its best when out and about during the warmer months, turn to a good leave-in conditioner for giving your hair exactly what it needs.
Try out the TRESemmé Botanique Nourish & Replenish Hydrating Mist, as this lightweight spray smoothes and conditions to leave it beautifully hydrated and ready for styling.
Betty Bachz
It seems that long, flowing hair is in for 2016 because Betty Bachz stepped out at the Serpentine Summer Party 2016 with locks that almost reached her belly button (we kid you not!). They were styled into loose, bohemian-style waves, working to perfectly complement her bouncy, blow-out fringe.
Laura Bailey
Blonde bombshell Laura Bailey styled her signature ultra-long locks into soft, cascading waves. With her hair parted down the centre, she sported a delicate plait either side of her temples, proving in the process that a simple hairstyle can still be stunning.
To pull the look together, she wore a black and white Chanel ensemble, which was just too way too chic for words. Laura, can we borrow it one day, pretty please?
