When one hairstyle just doesn’t quite cut it!
For us at All Things Hair HQ, and for many women around the world, Selena Gomez is a constant source of hair inspiration. After all, just look at her hair history: from peekaboo blue highlights to a super sleek lob (AKA long bob), the singer has tried a multitude of fantastic hairstyles and, let’s be honest, totally slays every time!
With this in mind, it comes as no surprise that the former Disney star has wowed us once again with not one but four hair looks in her latest music video, Bad Liars! Okay we won’t hold you any further, simply scroll on to see all the looks from Selena’s incredibly styled video, below.
Selena Gomez’ best looks from her Bad Liar video
1. Half-up, half-down bouffant
The ’70s-inspired video sees Selena play the role of the four main characters, each with their own stand-out hairstyle. So lets jump right in with this bouffant half-up, half-down look, which she wears in her role as the mother. Credit: @vevo
Bouffant hairstyles were a key look in the 1970s and are often replicated today, with the likes of Adele and Gigi Hadid rocking the style. But if you want to create this look at home, yet don’t have a glam squad to hand, simply follow our super easy bouffant how-to video to get you on your way.
2. Pinned-back braids
High school Selena wears the perfect get-up-and-go look, showing us that you can have a super cute hairstyle that can be created in seconds!
Get this pinned-back braided style by simply parting your hair down the centre, creating a three-stand braid on either side and securing them together at the back. Honestly, it couldn’t be easier – if only we looked this cool in our school years. Credit: @vevo
3. Tousled shag
New role, new ‘do – and this time it’s the role of the father that gets the spotlight. Okay, maybe this specific look isn’t for you, but don’t rule out shag haircuts just yet. Known for their laid back appearance, shag cuts gained popularity during the 1960s and transitioned into on-trend looks for both men and women in the 1970s, too.
Fast forward to 2017 and the shag cut has returned, currently reigning supreme with supermodels and influencers alike, being updated with long fringes, choppy layers and a rock’n’roll attitude. Credit: @vevo
4. Flipped out waves
You may feel that we’ve duped you by sticking in an image of ’70s hair icon Farrah Fawcett here, but no, that is definitely Selena Gomez giving her best Charlie’s Angels impression.
This feathered, flipped-back hairstyle was all the rage in the ’70s and still remains one of the most sought after looks today. It is no wonder that Selena wore this look for her role as the teacher in the Bad Liars video – it just suits her so well! Credit: @vevo
