Rihanna has dread extensions (again) – and we love them!

RiRi has done it again!

While some popstars are cutting off their dreadlocks, Rihanna on the other hand has decided it was time to shake things up, by transforming her tresses with the addition of lengthy dread extensions!

Yes, you read that sentence correctly: bad gal RiRi has broken her self-imposed ‘no-selfies’ rule and posted a picture of her new hairstyle on Instagram. Take a look at her incredible new ‘do for yourself, below!

Celebrity hair alert: Rihanna has dread extensions!

When we say that these dread extensions are lengthy, we’re not exaggerating. These dread extensions almost rival that of Erykah Badu’s floor-length micro braids! And from the picture – which was posted on the singer’s Instagram yesterday – they seem to go way beyond her hips! Now, that’s what we call long!

This may not be the first time Rihanna has rocked faux dreadlocks (you might remember her fake locs, circa 2012), but we’re pretty sure that this is the first time her dread extensions have resembled freeform locs.

We love how this Rastafarian-inspired aesthetic fits perfectly with her Bob Marley-influenced caption: ‘buffalo $oldier’. And we say, more power to ya, girl! Credit: @badgalriri

Editor’s tip: Feeling tempted to try out some dreadlocks yourself? Then don’t forget that your strands still need caring for, which is why we suggest you invest in a good leave-in conditioner.

Our current obsession is with the TRESemmé Botanique Nourish & Replenish Hydrating Mist, which will help to detangle strands, tame flyaways and smooth frizz, giving you a wonderfully nourish mane!
