Fashion lovers everywhere can rejoice for Haute Couture Week! We’ve been eagerly keeping an eye on the runway shows to fawn over the quirky outfits and, of course, striking hairstyles.

And let us tell you now: this season’s show hasn’t disappointed. In fact, it’s served up a stunning array of wearable retro and modern hair looks that we urge you to give a go.



Haute Couture Week SS19: The hairstyle edit

1. Headbands at Givenchy

There is no denying that headbands are set to be huge for 2019! From Kate Middleton’s knotted headband to Kaia Gerber’s Givenchy pearl encrusted tiara, which accessory will you choose?

2. Octopus bun at Tony Ward

Remember the ninja bun? It’s time to say hello to its new friend, the octopus bun.

This bun fusion was spotted on the Tony Ward runway where models wore their tresses in wet look sleek high buns with the ends of their hair left to poke out.

3. Dip-dyed fringe at Iris Van Herpen

Lacking creativity when it comes to fringe styles? Why not try a subtle dip-dye.

Models wore their hair in smooth ponytails with full fringes and completed the look with a faint colour dip-dye. Unexpected, yes, do we love it? Yes!

4. Wet look waves at Giambattista Valli

From runway to red carpet, we just can’t get enough of wet look strands.

Whether you opt for Kim Kardashian’s just stepped out the shower tresses to wet look roots as seen at Giambattista Valli, it’s time to reach for your fave wet look gel and make this look your go-to for summer.

5. Crimped hair at Georges Chakra

Pictures of ’80s crimped hair might be enough to put you off this trend forever but hear us out. This modern take, spotted on the Georges Chakra runway, is far cooler and well, less likely to go down as a fashion faux pas if worn correctly.

6. Gothic beehive at Chanel

You can always count the Chanel Haute Couture show to make quite the impression. For SS19, models wore their hair in sky-high beehives with a gothic twist. While it might not be everyone’s daily style, it’ll definitely make for the chicest Halloween look, especially if paired with a tweed two-piece!

7. Braids and veils at Azzaro

Who said veils were only reserved for formal occasions? Not us and not the models at the Azzaro SS19 show.

We love this model’s braided cornrow and net veil combination and the added jewels give it a chic look we can’t wait to try.

1. Priscilla Presley hair at Valentino

The sky-high bouffant, which Priscilla Presley made famous was brought back by Valentino this season in extreme proportions! So, just remember if you’re rocking 60s-inspired hairstyles to give your bouffant or beehive style a lot of height.

3. Glam beehives at Fendi

At the Rodarte show, models looked as if they stepped out of A Midsummer Night’s Dream with their mane romantically decorated with baby’s breath flowers and silk ribbon bows.
