We’ve barely slept this week as we’ve been binge watching Stranger Things 2 on a loop (don’t worry, no spoilers here – we’re not that evil). If you’ve been doing the same then you’ll know that Natalia Dyer, who plays high school student Nancy Wheeler, wears her warm brown hair in ’80s waves for every episode.
How her hair can still look so good when she’s fighting the Demogorgon is a story for another day, but equally surprising is the fact that in real life, Natalia is looking completely different to her on-screen character nowadays…
Natalia Dyer looks a far cry from her Stranger Things character with blonde makeover
The 20-year-old actress was almost unrecognisable at the Stranger Things 2 premiere, where she debuted her new look on the red carpet. Long gone are her signature chestnut brown locks, traded instead for light, honey blonde highlights.
As you can see, Natalia has also had a choppy fringe cut in to her usual centre parting, which combined with the lighter colour to really make her blue eyes pop! Opting for a more glammed-up ‘do for the occasion, Natalia also traded Nancy’s soft curls for an elegant updo, giving her a sophisticated and mature red carpet style.
After months of filming the show, we wouldn’t be surprised if Natalia just fancied a change ahead of the show’s press tour, but will Nancy return as a blonde, too? Hurry up season 3!
Editor’s tip: Thinking about getting blonde highlights like Natalia’s? To ensure your highlights stay vibrant, we recommend treating your hair to a treatment mask at least once a week to revive the colour.
The TIGI Catwalk Fashionista Blonde Mask is specially formulated for blondes, helping to defend against damage from bleaching and styling while also adding shine to make your golden strands shimmer.
Not got your fill of Stranger Things yet? Get your fix and find out how Natalia’s co-star Joe Keery (AKA Steve) achieves his iconic blown back style, right here.
