Mane moments: 7 times Jennifer Lawrence’s gorgeous hair made hairstory
Jennifer Lawrence has proved herself as a chameleon in more ways than one!
Over the course of her wildly successful career, American actress Jennifer Lawrence has swiftly become the It-girl of the decade and it’s not just because of her impeccable acting skills. We partly peg her acclaim to her ability to slay any hairstyle, having rocked beachy waves, ethereal updos and many other ‘dos that made us wildly envious!
And seeing as today is her 27th birthday (Happy Birthday!), we’ve decided to celebrate it by taking a look back at all her best hair moments – all of which you need to take note of.
7 times Jennifer Lawrence’s hair gave us mane envy

1. Beachy waves in 2011
When Jennifer Lawrence started gaining more recognition back in 2011, she was already bringing a tonne of cool-girl vibes to the table. Come on, just have a look at the effortless beachy waves she rocked to The National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Awards.
With its enviable blonde shade, volume and bounce, it ticks all the right boxes and would foretell of the many textured hairstyles that stars would rock in the years to come!
Editor’s tip: The secret to getting mermaid-worthy beach waves? Sea salt spray, of course! Our current fave is the VO5 Sea Salt Spray, which will add definition and texture to your mane, leaving you with perfectly undone locks.

2. Wispy bangs in 2012
Though J-Law had been in the acting scene since 2006, her iconic role as Katniss Everdeen in the dystopian fantasy film The Hunger Games got everyone talking.
For the film’s premiere, the actress debuted a sultry dark bronde hair hue and romantic wispy bangs. Combined with a swipe of smokey eyeshadow, the actress’ look gave off an air of mystery!

3. Milkmaid braid in 2013
After a short stint as a bronde-babe, Jennifer took the plunge and joined the dark side with this sophisticated brunette hue that also had toffee highlights in it. Looks as delicious as it sounds, right?
And when she made her grand entrance at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards in 2013, she was undeniably channelling Juliet vibes with this ethereal milkmaid braid style.
Now, before you get super jelly, did you know we have an easy-breezy tutorial on how to do a milkmaid braid? You’re welcome!

4. Textured pixie cut in 2014
When Jennifer got bored of her lush long locks, she decided to go for the chop and get a textured pixie hair cut, in 2014. And doesn’t she pull it off brilliantly?
After the star went for the chop, many A-list women seemed to follow in her mane footsteps (ahem, Miley Cyrus), heralding Jennifer’s bravery as their #hairinspo.

5. Textured waves in 2015
In 2015, the star’s pixie cut had grown out and become the next It-girl look to rock: a wavy bob. So when she turned up to The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay Part 2 film premiere with her new look, we couldn’t help but swoon.
In the throwback picture, above, it’s clear to see that her hair has been fashioned into high-impact, playful waves, perfectly complimenting her new buttery blonde hair colour. #Slay!

6. Low bun updo in 2016
Before Pinterest insights revealed that the blogger bun (AKA the low bun) was the most searched style this year, J-Law was already rocking the look in 2016.
This laid-back style feels totally fresh and practically radiates carefree, cool-girl vibes – very befitting for the style queen, don’t you think?

7. Loose lob in 2017
As you have seen, Jennifer Lawrence isn’t one to shy away from experimenting with hairstyles. We recently reported she got a new full fringe for an upcoming role, but found it was the handy work of a clip-in piece (sobs!).
Also, when she doesn’t feel like doing anything fancy with her locks, J-Law also knows the styling power of a good hat. Here she wears a wide-rim sunhat with oversized sunglasses, rocking the pair like a true Hollywood star!
Now, the only question left to ask is: what will she do next? Watch this space…
