4 flawless LFW street style hairstyles that you’ll want to try right now

Forget the runway. For real-life style inspiration, we're looking to the streets!

If you thought that fashion week was all about the catwalk looks, you’d be mistaken. We love style spotting outside the shows almost as much as the shows themselves and with so many fashion bloggers posing up a storm, the hairstyle inspiration was flowing!

And the best part? You don’t have to wait until spring/summer to try out these trends, as they’re all wearable right now. We’ve already shared our favourite street style looks from NYFW, but now it’s time to turn our attention to London! Come take a look at the best hair looks the capital had to offer…

4 street style trends you need to try out, stat

1. Berets

You’ve probably seen berets popping up everywhere already and they’re only set to get bigger as we head into autumn/winter.

The perfect transitional accessory, they’re a chicer, Parisian alternative to a cosy beanie and far more Instagrammable. We’ve clocked PVC and pearl embellished versions popping up on the high street, but you can’t go wrong with classic black.

Psst… if you’re looking for a way to keep your beret in the perfect position, bobby pins are the answer. Use them to clip your beret into your hair at the back of your head and you won’t have to worry about it falling off or being blown away by the wind!

Editor’s tip: Tempted to give this French girl style a try? To steal this style, prep your strands with an allover spritz of the TRESemmé Get Sleek Protect and Polish Duo Mist.

The 2-in-1 formula not only acts as a heat protectant pre-styling but also gives your hair a glossy, salon-worthy shine, so you’ll always have selfie-ready strands.

2. Baker boy hats

Ever since we saw Keira Knightley rocking a baker boy hat in Love Actually, we’ve been waiting for our chance to rock the look — and lo and behold, the trend is back with a fashion blogger seal of approval.

This season’s cool girl hat of choice, with Kate Moss and Kendall Jenner already early adopters of the trend, it’s only a matter of time before we’re all converted.

3. Buzz cuts

Buzz cuts have been one of the more daring styles we’ve seen coming through this year, but the look (first spotted on stars like Kristen Stewart and Keke Palmer) has started to filter down from the A-list to the streets.

To really solidify your fashionista credentials, try dyeing yours platinum blonde – like this street styler – and you’ll give your look an elfin, feminine finish that juxtaposes the harshness of the cut.

Editor’s tip: Feeling daring enough to give a blonde buzz a try? If you do, we recommend investing in a purple shampoo to help maintain your colour. The TIGI Bed Head Dumb Blonde Purple Toning Shampoo is violet-tinted to neutralise any yellowing and ensure your shade stays ice-cool.

4. Colourful braids

If you’ve only ever worn natural-coloured box braids, you’re seriously missing a trick. We love this street styler’s bright teal braids and paired with her monochrome outfit, they provide the perfect pop of colour to complete her look.

Not sure which colour to go for? Check out our gallery of rainbow box braid inspo and feast your eyes on these technicolour tresses!
