We’ve already sung our song about how Brigitte Bardot hairstyles are having a major comeback for 2017, but thanks to Laura Whitmore and her new ‘do, we’re turning our attention to yet another ’60s icon – Twiggy.
We’re used to seeing Laura wearing her creamy blonde locks in a simple centre parting, so spying her with dramatic ’60s-esque bangs on Instagram came as quite a shock! See her retro style for yourself, below, and join the conversation on Twitter to let us know what you think.
Laura Whitmore just debuted ’60s Twiggy bangs on Instagram
The TV presenter revealed her new look in the usual celeb style – with a smokin’ hot Insta pic! In it, she’s sporting a messy top knot and long, wispy bangs, akin to the feminine pixie cut made famous by British model Twiggy back in the 1960s.
Pairing her throwback style with lashings of mascara and smoky kohl liner, there’s no denying there’s a definite Twiggy-esque feel to this look.
But here comes the sad part… “(no hair was harmed in getting this look)”, Laura joked in her Instagram caption, revealing that her new style is in fact the work of a clever hairdo rather than an actual cut. While we’ve got to admit we’re kind of sad that this look isn’t for real (she totally suits a fringe!), Laura has reminded us to give faux bangs a try.
So if you fancy joining Laura and other A-list stars in the bangs brigade (we’re looking at you Kendall Jenner and Maisie Williams), find out how you can instantly transform your own hair with our step-by-step faux bangs tutorial, here. Credit: @thewhitmore
Editor’s tip: Nobody wants a flat fringe, so if Laura’s look has inspired you to join the fringe fam, we recommend investing in a texturising product such as the VO5 Dry Texturising Spray. A quick spritz of this sea salt-infused formula will help to plump up your bangs and give them more grit for effortless, cool-girl vibes.
