Mane moments: Keeping up with Kim Kardashian’s hairstyles

Keeping up with this Kardashian is hard work!

From long bobs to Rapunzel length tresses, Kim Kardashian really has tried more hairstyles than most (or anyone come to think about it). With the mega star’s 37th birthday this weekend (happy birthday, Kim), we thought we would pull together the most memorable mane moments of Kim Kardashian for your viewing pleasure.

Following in the footsteps of her baby sister Kylie Jenner (who, as we all know, is a total hair colour chameleon!), Kim’s been switching up her hair look almost every other week. Well, if you had a glam squad on call 24/7, wouldn’t you?

2011: Bangs

While many of us don’t think of Kim as someone who regularly rocks fringe hairstyles, the model, businesswoman and social media sensation occasionally likes to experiment with full bangs.

Who could forget the long sweeping side fringe she rocked at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards and this hairstyle circa 2011?

2012: ’60s-inspired

Just like many of us, Kim K likes to draw inspiration from vintage hairstyles and this singing ’60s half-up, half-down hairstyle is certainly one of our favourite looks.

Styling her chocolate brown hair with a soft bouffant, Kim adds a further nod to the ’60s with her grown-out Brigitte Bardot-inspired bangs – kudos, Kim!

Editor’s tip: For fearless volume, we suggest using VO5 Dramatic Volume Creation HairsprayNot only will this hairspray boost and lift your hair from the roots, it’ll give all day hold too!

2014: Va-va-voom volume

Kim Kardashian’s long locks are her signature style so when she debuted this shorter style at the 2014 VMA’s we had to take notice.

Ditching her long hair extensions, Kim went for a more natural finish which looked incredible on her (of course). Kim then added bucket loads of volume to her roots and went for a ‘bed head’ tousled finish, which perfectly complemented her warm balayage hair.

Editor’s tip: Want to create Kim’s enviable volume, we love to use Dove Advanced Hair Series Oxygen Moisture Root Lift SprayIt’s perfect for targeting roots, giving your tresses lightweight lift and body.

2016: Straight and sleek

2016 marked what we like to call Kim 2.0. and here, we see Kim taking on even more daring looks, which had many of us following suit.

2016: Boxer braids

Unless you have been living under a rock you will know that boxer braid hairstyles have become one of the hottest hairstyles over the past year.

While this 2016 look wasn’t the first time Kim has sported a braided hairstyle, we like to think this was one of her finest looks.

2016: Rapunzel waves

Donning a 32-inch wig (because of course, she couldn’t grow her hair super long that quick!), Kim looked photo-ready with her long brunette hair styled in loose beach waves which tumbled over her chest.

Once again, Kim kicked off the rising trend of lengthy hairstyles that we have since seen on everyone from Demi Lovato to Nicki MinajCredit: @kimkardashian

2017: Wet look shag

Waving goodbye to her long locks, Kim went for a short shag hairstyle in 2017. We love how Kim ditched her signature middle parting and refreshed her dark and wet look waves with a side parting.

2017: Cher vibes

Kim Kardashian has never kept secret the fact that singer Cher is her beauty icon. So when she debuted this super straight sleek hairdo this year, we can’t say we were surprised.

Revealing her new hair transformation on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, Kim went for a full ’70s-inspired look for the photoshoot. But it seems like Kim just couldn’t get enough of her extra long tresses as she was seen with the style for many weeks, until….

2017: Silver blonde hue

For New York Fashion Week, Kim decided to dye her dark locks a bold new silver-blonde hue and we have to say we are living for this look the most.

Now of course with a bold new look like this, many speculated that it was the use of a clever wig, but oh no, Kim has actually coloured her tresses this Khaleesi-inspired colour. Kim, we take our hat off to you as this look is simply stunning!

Editor’s tip: Tempted to go blonde like Kim?  Then you’ll probably already know that this process can be very stressful on your mane.  But don’t fret as you can help to improve the look and feel of your coloured hair by investing in the Nexxus Emergencée Restoring Masque!
