Halsey shocks everyone with new long dark hair at the VMAs
We definitely didn't see that one coming.
Did you notice Halsey at the VMAs? Well, we wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t, because the electro-pop singer looked pretty unrecognisable with her new hair colour and long tresses!
Halsey is known as much for her music, as she is for her edgy, punk-like green-blue hair hues and short pixie crop. So it’s no surprise that her new ‘do shocked just about everyone (including us!) when she stepped out at the MTV Video Music Awards this year.
Everyone is talking about Halsey’s hair at the VMAs
Unless Halsey is some kind of superhuman who can grow her hair at an exceptional rate, we’re guessing that the star decided to rock hair extensions or a wig for the event. Perhaps she wanted to take a leaf out of the hair playbook of Kim Kardashian‘s? Whatever her reasons, the best part about this unexpected look is that it has zero commitment – the second she gets bored of her long tresses, she can easily go back to her cute crop! Nice, right?

Want Halsey VMAs hair? Here are our 3 tips to get the look now
1. Got naturally straight hair? Don’t worry, waves aren’t out of reach for you. Heated styling tools, like curling tongs and heated rollers, are a great way to create picture-perfect waves. Try the TONI&GUY Glamour Jumbo Tong or the TONI&GUY Professional Extreme Rollers to get Halsey’s glammed-up, wavy ‘do.
2. If you’re planning to use heated styling tools to recreate Halsey’s loose waves, don’t forget to protect your locks with a heat protectant. We love the VO5 Smoothly Does It Heat Protect Spray because it helps to reduce frizz, tame flyaways and leaves your hair looking ultra shiny!
3. Complete your look with a hairspray! This will help your glam waves last all-day long and give your hair a beautiful finish. The TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Ultra-Brushable Hairspray is great if you want to give your tresses light control without stiffness and stickiness, or losing any bounce. Oh, and it also helps to protect your mane from frizz!
