5 Ways to rock your hair parting this autumn

New hair without having to forfeit any length? Surely it's too good to be true...

What if we told you there was a way to refresh your hairstyle that doesn’t involve cutting or dyeing it? Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? Truth is, you can quickly and easily revamp your ‘do, simply by changing up your hair parting! Yep, we’re being totally serious.

But that’s not even the best part (excuse the pun). Luckily for you, the autumn/winter 2016 catwalk shows were filled with inspirational hair parting ideas. So, of course, we took the liberty to put together 5 of our favourite combinations to help you revamp your locks for autumn.

Centre parting with a gelled fringe

Okay, we have to admit that this parting hairstyle from Mary Katrantzou may be a little too directional for everyday wear, but we just love how it gently taps into this season’s wet-look trend. Not to mention, it’s also a great way to fake a fringe if you don’t want the commitment of going for the chop! If you have curly hair, we suggest using TRESemmé Make Waves Sculpt & Define Spray Gel (£5.50*) to help recreate this look!

Off-centre parting with side twist

Looking for an easy way to accentuate your side parting? It seems like the Herve Leger by Max Azria’s AW16 show has an answer to this hair dilemma. So, grab a comb and take a leaf from this catwalk show’s book!

Start by creating a side parting with the tip of your comb. Then, spray your hair (on the side with less hair) with some VO5 Sublime Sleek Creation Hairspray (£3.99*). This will give your hair more grip and help make your twist last all day. Next, take 1-2 inches of hair from near your parting and begin twisting the hair back on itself, picking up more hair as you go, to create your twist. Continue this rolling process until you reach just above your ear, and secure your twist with bobby pins. Spritz again with the VO5 Sublime Sleek Creation Hairspray – and now you’re ready for the runway!

Parted fringe

You’d be forgiven for not noticing this subtle hair parting at the Mulger AW16 show – but that’s part of its beauty. All you have to do is create a side parting, then part your fringe from the rest of your hair. Use the VO5 Classic Styling Mega Hold Gel Spray (£2.99*) to hold your bangs in place and give your parting a showstoppingly sleek finish.

Sleek middle parting

Looking for a parting hairstyle that won’t rock the boat too much? Then this could be the hair solution for you. Create a sharp middle parting using a comb, then apply some hair oil (we like the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Nourshing Treatment (£6.99*)) to either side of your parting – stopping roughly above your ear.

To finish off this look, spray the top of your hair with the Toni & Guy Glamour Firm Hold Hairspray (£7.49*) for mirror-like shine. Leave the rest of your mane as it is, or create texture and volume using a crimper, if you’re looking to channel a subtle ’90s vibe – this contrast in texture is what you need to nail this catwalk look!

Deep side parting

W’re totally in love with Isabal Marant’s interpretation of the classic deep side parting. The best thing about it is that it’s also a cool way to fake a side-swept fringe. Not to mention, it’s a great hair parting style for vintage hair lovers! Just don’t forget to use a strong-hold hairspray, like the TRESemmé Ultimate Hold Hairspray (500ml, £4.99*), to help ensure your parting and faux fringe stay picture-perfect.
