We can’t get enough of these fiery hues!
From popular TV series’ such as Game of Thrones and Desperate Housewives, to films like The Avengers, it’s safe to say that we’ve seen a lot of famous redheads pop up on our screens over the past few years. And thanks to this, now more than ever, the red carpet has been bursting with stars flaunting fiery-coloured locks!
So, to celebrate just how awesome this hair hue really is, we’ve decided to do a round-up of the most iconic celebrities with red hair, to give you some hot #hairspiration! Simply flick through the gallery above, and read on to get the lowdown on each flaming look.
Celebrity redheads giving us major hair envy
Singer Florence Welch (AKA lead singer of indie band Florence and the Machine) is famous for her striking red locks. Whether she styles her mane into a braided updo, or leaves her strands hanging loose, her trademark red hue always wows fans, both on and off the stage!
American actress Julianne Moore has been rocking red hair for as long as we can remember – and it seems that this starlet’s hair only gets better with age! And as much as we love the odd occasion that she has rocked a light blonde ‘do, we can’t help but think that Julianne’s normal, rich red hue complements her pale skin tone perfectly.
Remember that time Rihanna rocked an insanely hot red hair look? Of course you do! When the singer debuted her crimson bob in her hit music video Only Girl, the world went mad for it! And sure enough, as with any great A-list hair trend, we started to notice more and more women hopping on the red hair bandwagon.
If there’s one person who can pull off strawberry blonde hair, it has to be Isla Fisher. This natural redhead has dabbled with brighter shades in the past, but we reckon that this more subtle hue suits her to a T. Plus, we love how she’s styled her long, tumbling waves, into a deep side part. Ooh la la!
Lana Del Rey
She’s worked both a lush brunette look, and a lovely shade of caramel in the past, but Lana Del Rey is mostly known for her sultry red locks, which are almost always fashioned into a classy, ultra-volumised hairstyle. However, we’re totally crushing on her current chestnut shade of red, which warms her complexion and makes her green eyes pop!
Did you know that supermodel Lily Cole’s trademark red tresses are au naturel? Yep, it’s true, and we’re super jealous! But it’s not just her lustrous red hair hue that makes waves in the fashion industry: it’s her bouncy, voluminous curls, too! Lily is living proof that coils and red hair really do go hand-in-hand.
Queen of the pixie crop (AKA Sharon Osbourne) certainly knows a thing or 2 about picking the right shade of red! Her playful pixie, paired with her signature mahogany red hue, knocks years off her age – you’d never believe that she’s 64! Work it, girl!
Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross has to have one of the most vibrant shades of natural red hair in the celebrity world! But what gives her stunning colour loads of extra depth and dimension, is the luscious, face-framing waves, that really help to enhance her bold features.
Ex Girls Aloud band member Nicola Roberts first popped onto our radar with natural red hair way back in 2002, and has experimented with numerous other hair colours. But lucky for us, she’s finally returned as a redhead, and we couldn’t be happier! And we have to say, we just love how she styles her woody, auburn locks into soft, cascading waves.
We don’t know about you, but we simply can’t get enough of Mad Men star Christina Hendricks‘ reddish, rose gold mane! Come one, just look at how sophisticated it looks on the red carpet, with that red lip and red hair combo! Christina definitely proves that you can rock both bold hues at once. What a lady!
Editor’s tip: Remember, if you’re tempted to try out a fiery red hue, you’ll need to invest in a shampoo and conditioner duo that’s been specifically made with coloured hair in mind. We suggest trying the TRESemmé Colour Revitalise Shampoo and Conditioner.
