Emilia Clarke just debuted Khaleesi-inspired locks (& it’s for real this time!)

We can still remember the shock when we first discovered that Emilia Clarke (AKA Daenerys Targaryen, Khaleesi, Breaker of Chains, the Mother of Dragons etc. etc. — you get the idea) wasn’t actually blonde in real life. A natural brunette, the actress wears silvery white wigs to get into character for her role in Game of Thrones.
But yesterday, after 7 seasons of wigs, she revealed that she has finally taken the plunge and dyed her hair blonde for real! Find out what happened when Emilia met Daenerys, below…
Emilia Clarke’s Khaleesi transformation is complete!
The elated star shared an excited snap of her freshly-bleached strands, writing “I done did it. Mother of dragons meet Emilia. Emilia meet mother of dragons.” She also went on to thank the creators of her signature wig for “at long last making this magical moment a reality”. Credit: @emilia_clarke
While she’s now a blondie, there is one telltale sign that we can use to differentiate between Emilia and her on-screen counterpart… In the photo we can see that her own locks are still cut to the lob-length style we’ve seen her rocking this year, while Daenerys is known for her ethereal, flowing mane.

Honestly, we’d have to agree with Karlie on this one and all we can say now is season 8 of GOT can’t come soon enough!
