We’re sure you’ll agree that there were a whole host of celebrities who rocked some utterly gorgeous haircuts this year. From edgy pixie crops to ultra long strands, this year in celebrity hair was definitely one to remember! So, take a trip down memory lane with us while we look back on the very best celebrity haircuts from each month.
Celebrity hair 2016: This year’s most memorable looks
January: Vanessa Hudgens’ blunt bob
Vanessa Hudgens wins our January slot with her fashionable blunt bob, which has been styled sleek and slicked-back. Plus, note how her ends have been curled outwards to add an extra touch of red carpet glam.
February: Ellie Goulding’s mid-length cut
British singer Ellie Goulding‘s playful mid-length cut was the one that stole our hearts in February. The subtle layering and choppy ends, paired with a honey blonde hue make for a chic, yet fun hairstyle.
March: Rumer Willis’ pixie crop
American actress and singer Rumer Willis (who also happens to be the daughter of actors Bruce Willis and Demi Moore!), rocked this sophisticated pixie crop in March. Styled into a deep side part, and with plenty of volume on top, this pixie crop wasn’t only our favourite hairstyle for March: it was one of our most loved ‘dos for the entire year!
April: Elizabeth Olsen’s blunt cut with a middle parting
Elizabeth Olsen AKA queen of the middle parting rocked up to the red carpet in April with a blunt cut that fell just past her shoulders. Her dirty blonde ombre hair had been styled into glossy, beachy waves, and of course, we can’t forget about that centre-parting!
May: Lupita Nyong’o’s asymmetric afro
We can always count on Lupita Nyong’o to pull it out of the hair bag, and she definitely didn’t disappoint with this fashion-forward asymmetric afro. We love how one side of her ‘fro is cropped slightly shorter than the other. Because symmetry is so last year, right?
June: Blake Lively’s long, layered locks
Can Blake Lively do any wrong in the hair and makeup department? We think not! To welcome to arrival of summer, Blake sported a highlighted long, layered hairstyle that oozed both effortlessness and glamour. What else could a girl want, right?
July: Margot Robbie’s mid-length cut and long side fringe
Margot Robbie may have risen to fame only a few years ago, but the Australian actress has already debuted a whole heap of gorgeous hairstyles: one being this pretty mid-length cut. To take her ‘do from daytime to after-dark, she opted for a long side fringe to help frame her face, too.
August: Georgia May Jagger’s long hair with bangs
Model Georgia May Jagger shocked all her fans back in August when she debuted this fiery red hue (which we loved, by the way!). But what really made her hair colour pop was the snazzy haircut it was paired with: her long, layered locks and gappy fringe really stole the show for us.
September: Zoe Kravitz’s long box braids
It wasn’t Zoe Kravitz‘s belt necklace that made her the top of our September list – oh no, it was her ultra long, box braids that did it for us! And in particular, it was the fact that they were unravelled at the mid-way point to reveal gorgeous crimped waves.
October: Sienna Miller’s choppy shag
Our favourite celebrity hair moment of October had to be when Sienna Miller stepped out with this choppy, layered mane that we dubbed the grown-out shag. Not only is she our go-to girl for milkmaid braids, but now she’s our inspiration for shag haircuts, too!
November: Olivia Munn’s ultra long, wavy mane
We nearly did a double take last month when we spotted Olivia Munn on the red carpet, because just look at how long her hair is! Sometimes, hair this long can look limp and lifeless, but Olivia definitely made it work. How? With the addition of some loose, luscious waves, of course!
December: Jennifer Hudson’s choppy pixie crop
Since rising to prominence on the TV show American Idol, singer Jennifer Hudson has treated us to a number of marvellous hairstyles, including this sassy pixie cut! Instead of opting for a traditional-looking pixie crop, Jennifer went for something a little more daring with this heavily layered, choppy ‘do! Keep on rocking, girl!
