And the hair award goes to!
When it comes to award ceremonies, it doesn’t get much better or more star-studded than the Cannes Film Festival. With the crème de la crème of the A-list world out in full force, everyone comes together to celebrate and recognise the wealth of talent the film industry has to offer.
And while it can be hard to cast your eyes away from the scenic French settings and the top designer ensembles, we couldn’t help but appreciate the sheer amount of gorgeous hairstyles on display.
So, to honour all the red capret style queens, we’ve put together our very own hair awards from the festival – take a look!

Most Dramatic Transformation Award: Salma Hayek’s pretty in pink
We bet you almost didn’t recognise Salma Hayek with this candyfloss pink hue, did you? Totally transforming her signature brunette strands, we did more than a double take when we spotted the actress on the red carpet!
Pink hair has been the most coveted hue as of late, loved by celebrities from Pixie Lott to Suki Waterhouse and even Helen Mirren. With this in mind, it comes as no surprise that another celebrity has also opted for the hue… but we certainly didn’t expect it to be Salma!
Best Short Hair Award: Winnie Harlow’s pixie cut
Winnie Harlow always looks amazing, whether it’s on the runway or the red carpet. The model off the moment switched up her style by ditching her usual long tresses for a minimal pixie cut, giving her look a tres chic edge!
We’ve seen Winnie work a host of trendy hairstyles since her career began, from silver grey hair to the ever popular top knot. But we have to sat: this pixie crop is effortlessly polished and totally deserves our Best Short Hair Award.
Most Show Stopping Style: Lily Collin’s throwback curls
We’re so used to seeing Lily Collins with her hair straight or in various updos that we almost missed this show stopper. The actress and model looked fabulous at Cannes, while throwing it back to the ’80s with this bouncy faux perm.
Lifetime Hair Achievement: Tilda Swinton’s quiffed ‘do
When it comes to red carpet hair, sometimes a tried and tested style works best, and no one does it better than Tilda Swinton.
Occasionally moving away from her platinum blonde hue, the actress and fashion muse has been wearing her hair in a short style for years, yet it always looks fresh and totally unique! But if you’re stuck for styling inspo, do like Tilda and style your short strands into a funky quiff.
