Holiday type: Adventure holiday in Thailand.
Hair must-haves: Sea salt spray and hairspray.
“As much as I am a sit-by-the-pool-and-daydream kinda gal, my boyfriend isn’t (sadly). So as a compromise we’re dividing our next holiday into two halves: adventure and relaxation. Trying to look stylish while ziplining and jet-skiing in 25+ degree heat is no easy feat (unless you’re a Kardashian), so while my face may be looking petrified I am going to make damn sure my hair is on point.
For day adventures I will be wearing my hair in braids; from a single French to double Dutch, I will be putting my braiding skills to the test. And because I have fine hair I tend to use a sea salt spray (like the brilliant TONI&GUY Sea Salt Texturising Spray) to give my hair a little grit and hold. But that’s not all: everyone knows that braids are a great way to create heatless curls, and with the added spritz of this sea salt spray I can guarantee flawless waves each and every time.
When the lights go down it calls for a new hairdo – and my go-to for every holiday is a low bun. It’s the perfect style to keep my medium-length hair pinned back and, of course, to beat the heat…
To ensure I have a smooth and frizz free finish, I will be relying on VO5 Ultimate Hold Hairspray. Thanks to its weather protection and UV filter, which helps to prevent frizz and environmental damage, this travel-sized product is a holiday hair must-have. Oh and the best part… there is no sticky residue and it’s fast drying!”

Holiday type: Life’s a beach in Greece.
Hair must-haves: Hair oil and a detangler spray.
“This might sound crazy, but I’ve actually never been on a beachy/resort holiday before (I’m usually more of a city break person). So, this year my boyfriend and I decided to go for something a bit different by booking a chilled-out spa break in Greece.
I tend not to do too much to my hair while I’m on holiday but since I’m planning on spending the majority of my time by the pool, I’ll be making sure to pack the TIGI Beach Freak Moisturising Detangler Spray alongside my SPF. It contains seaweed extract and a UV complex to stop my hair from getting dried out, protecting it from the sun while I’m soaking up the rays.
Then at night, once I’ve washed all the chlorine out of my hair, I’ll apply a few pumps of the Dove Advanced Hair Series Pure Care Dry Oil Nourishing Treatment and leave it in overnight to hydrate my ends and prevent any frizz.”
Amra, Junior Beauty Editor
Holiday type: City break in Paris.
Hair must-haves: Frizz-free cream and hydrating mist.
“Where am I going this year? To Paris, mes amis! I’ve already been to Disneyland Paris (I’ll never get over the fact they wouldn’t let me on the Indiana Jones roller coaster ride!) but have never had the chance to roam the dazzling Avenue des Champs-Élysées or visit the Louvre.
So, I’m planning a short city break and really don’t want to spend my time obsessing over my hair, which is why I need the TRESemmé Botanique Nourish & Replenish Hydrating Mist and the VO5 Frizz Free Cream in my travel bag.
I’ve been wearing my natural hair out, which means I need a leave-in conditioner I can use on-the-go, so the TRESemmé Hydrating Mist is perfect. It moisturises my natural coils and leaves my mane smelling like a tropical cocktail.
To seal in the mist and make sure frizz really doesn’t bother me, I follow up with the VO5 Frizz Free Cream to tame my edges and any finicky flyaways. After this routine, I usually fashion my hair into a sleek low bun hairstyle and get ready to slay the day.”
