We all know what summer means: longer and hopefully hotter days, our favourite tennis championship on TV and best of all, festival season (hooray!).

And no matter which festival you’re attending this year, you’ll definitely need a fabulous wardrobe and cool hairstyle to match.

But if you’re a complete hair rookie and need a helping hand with festival hairstyles or you’re simply in dire need of #hairspiration, look no further. Luckily for you, we have found the most fool-proof hairstyle you can create in a matter of minutes, we call it the slicked back sides hairstyle.

So, to help you #BeatHairBoredom for festival season, we have also enlisted one of our favourite beauty bloggers Diipa Khosla to show you how to get the look in 4 easy steps.

So, if you’re ready to get this slicked back sides hairstyle, simply read on for all the tips and tricks you will need to get the look.

4 steps to the slicked back sides hairstyle

1

Section hair.

To start your festival tresses journey, take hair from your crown, leaving the sides free. Secure this section of hair from your crown into a half-up top knot top help keep it out of your way.

2

Apply product.

The key to creating this smooth slicked back look is to apply the VO5 Frizz Free Cream to the sides of your hair (underneath your top knot).

Use your hands or a comb to smooth the hair backward until the side is slick.

Let down your top knot.

Once your sides are slicked back and fully secured, release your top knot. Then use this section of hair to hide your hair pins at the back by gently smoothing with your hands.
