1. Twist braid

You’d never guess it but this twisted braid will literally take you less than 5 minutes to do. Although it looks like a French braid, the hair is actually just twisted, so it’s way quicker than a normal braid and looks like you’ve put major effort in.

2. Wrapped ponytail

The most low-maintenance of all casual hairstyles, the ponytail will forever be a favourite of ours.

All you need to do to make it look a little more polished is to take a small section of hair from underneath your ponytail and wrap it around the base to cover up your hairband. Go forth and swish that sassy pony!

3. Messy bun

Bow down to the queen of casual hairstyles, the messy bun. The perfect balance of messy bed hair and off-duty model all rolled into one, we don’t need convincing.

Editor’s tip: Messy buns are the perfect second day hairstyle. Just refresh your roots with a spritz of VO5 Refresh Dry Shampoo to soak up any grease and freshen up your roots and you’ll be good to go!

7. The hun

There’s no denying that the hun (AKA the half-up, half-down bun) is having a serious moment right now – especially on Instagram.

But that’s not even the best part, because this style is so incredibly versatile, it’ll literally work for anyone, no matter if your hair is short, long, straight or curly! Your natural texture will just add your own unique spin to your half-updo

8. Fishtail braided bun

Looking out for casual hairstyles that let you show off your braiding prowess? Braided buns are a classic but trying out the look with a different braiding style — this fishtail, for example — makes it a that bit more exciting.

Pair with a Breton top and you’ll have that French girl look down.

Psst! If you need a helping hand with your fishtail braiding, we’ve got a tutorial on it here – you’re welcome!

9. Braided headband

There’s a reason braided bangs are such well-loved casual hairstyles: the main one being that you can leave the rest of your hair out as it is.

Just adding a braid at the front of your hair totally passes as a look in itself, so you don’t need to stress about straightening your strands beforehand.
