The queen of YouTube shows us how she gets her gorgeous curls.

Our resident hair and beauty vlogger Zoella (AKA the Queen of YouTube) is back with another one of her fabulous tutorials for our Style It On series. This month, she’s accepted the challenge from naturalista Mini Marley to create every-occasion-worthy side-swept, loose curls – and boy oh boy are you guys in for a treat!

To see how mega-babe Zoella creates her stunning curly hairstyle, just watch the video above, and don’t forget to read on for a step-by-step guide, below.

How to get Zoella’s side-swept loose curls

1

Wash your hair.

Begin by washing your hair with the Dove Advanced Hair Series Regenerate Nourishment Shampoo and Conditioner to help promote the appearance of smoother and healthier-looking strands – the perfect base for creating your fabulous loose curls!

2

Apply mousse.

After washing your hair, apply some Catwalk by TIGI Strong Mousse to help to create long-lasting, defined curls, all without leaving your hair crispy!

3

Blow-dry your hair.

After applying the TIGI mousse, blow-dry your hair until it’s completely dry.

4

Section your hair.

Section your hair into 2-3 horizontal sections to prep it for curling. Zoe likes to use a scrunchie, but you can also use a sectioning clip to section your hair, if you find that easier.

5

Curl your hair.

Taking a 1-2 inch-wide section of hair, wrap it around your curling wand and away from your face. Zoe recommends tilting the curling wand slightly downwards at an angle. Hold your hair in place for a few seconds (depending on your hair type), then let it loose to reveal a gorgeous, glam curl!

Tip: Leave a small section at the ends of your hair straight for a more natural look.

6

Curl the rest of your hair.

Repeat step 5 on the rest of your hair. You can also curl some sections of hair in the opposite direction (towards your face) to help give your hairstyle more natural-looking definition and texture.

7

Separate your curls.

After you’ve curled your whole head, gently rake your fingers through your hair to separate your curls.

8

Create your side-swept waves.

Sweep all of your hair to one side, before pinning it in place with bobby pins at the back of your head. You can criss-cross your bobby pins on top of each other to secure them.

9

Set with hairspray.

To help keep your loose curls in place all day, spritz some TRESemmé Extra Hold Hairspray all over. Trust us: your curls won’t be going anywhere anytime soon!

10

Final look.

And as easy as that, you’ve recreated Zoella’s stunning side-swept loose curls! Now, go forth and show off your amazing curly ‘do: you’ve earned it!
