1

Detangle hair

This side fishtail hairstyle works best on clean hair, so ensure that yours is fresh with the Love Beauty And Planet Happy & Hydrated Shampoo and Conditioner.

Then brush through your tresses to get rid of any troublesome tangles. It’ll be far easier to braid your hair when it’s free of knots.

Create a ponytail

To ensure you weave your fishtail braid to the side, gather your hair into a low side ponytail at the nape of your neck and secure it with a hair band. Then split the hair in your ponytail into 2 even sections.

Create a fishtail braid

To create a side fishtail braid, start with the 2 sections of hair in your ponytail. Take a thin section of hair from the outer edge of the right section and pull it over and across to the left section, crossing in front (not behind).

Then repeat the same technique on the left section of your hair: take a thin section from the outer edge, pull it over and across the right section. Hold your hair tightly in place as you do this.

Keep braiding

Keep alternating the weaving motion between right and left sides until you reach the end of your ponytail.

It might take a few moments for you to see the full effect of your fishtail side braid take shape, so be patient! When you get to the end of your hair, secure with a hairband.

Tip: To give this look even more of a twist, try turning it into a side fishtail French braid! Simply French braid down the side of your head until you reach the nape of your neck, then begin your fishtail braid from there.
