Get silky smooth, FROW-worthy hair in an instant…

Thought that blow outs were a thing of the past? Well, think again! Blow outs are back with a bang this season, as proved at the Oscar de la Renta spring/summer 2017 show. Strutting their stuff down the runway in NYC’s Morgan Library, the 45 models stunned the crowd with their dazzlingly smooth hair.

If this news has you reaching for your blow dryer, then hold on just a second – because to get this amazing runway look at home, you’re going to need some top tips from the mastermind behind it all, Orlando Pita. We spoke to him backstage and he kindly gave us the lowdown on the look.

Smooth hair: Tips from hair stylist Orlando Pita

While the models were preparing to take to the runway, our All Things Hair team over in The Big Apple had a chat with TRESemmé’s hair stylist Orlando Pita, who told them: “The hair is middle parted, then blow-dried smooth. We then tuck the hair behind the ears. The look is essentially about beautiful hair on beautiful girls.” Well, it was certainly both of those things!

I hear from 99% of women that round brushes are so difficult to use, so I recommend using a paddle brush. – Orlando Pita.

Hair styling tools are super important when it comes to creating blow out-worthy, smooth hair. And when blow-drying your hair at home, Orlando recommends using a paddle brush, which is easier to use than a round brush, yet still helps to give you that classy, sophisticated blow out look.

How to get smooth hair at home

Step 1: Wash your hair with the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth: 7 Day Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner (250ml, £5.99 each*). This wash and care duo will help to smooth out frizzy hair, making it the perfect starting point in achieving silky smooth locks.

Step 2: Apply some TRESemmé Keratin Smooth: 7 Day Smooth Heat Activated Treatment (£6.99*) to your hair from root-to-tip. The formula works with the heat of your straighteners, to totally transform your unruly tresses!

Step 3: Using a comb, create a neat centre-parting. Then, working with one small section of hair at a time, blowdry your hair using either a round or paddle brush. Ensure that your hair dryer has a concentrator nozzle attached, as this will help you achieve the smooth, sleek hair you so desire.
