Games of Thrones star Sophie Turner dyes her hair blonde
And now she looks like Daenerys Targaryen...
British actress Sophie Turner is no longer a redhead, we repeat, she’s no longer a redhead! Renowned for her fiery auburn locks on the hit TV series Game of Thrones, the teen star shocked everyone when she posted a picture to her Instagram account flaunting a bright blonde mane on the weekend. And we’ve gotta admit, we here at All Things Hair are totally crushing on the “Sophie Turner blonde hair transformation”, just like everyone else.
Taking to Instagram, the actress (@sophiet) posted a picture of her newly blonde hair splayed out on the floor behind her, alongside the caption: “I did a thing…..”. While the star’s roots are more of a bleach blonde hue, the ends of her strands are darker and brassier, creating a subtle reverse ombre look. We can’t help but wonder if perhaps she drew inspiration from the Game of Thrones’ Mother of Dragons Daenerys Targaryen, whose bleach blonde locks in the TV show has reached iconic status.
Avid Game of Thrones fans have also been wondering whether Sophie’s new hair transformation is a clue that there may be a new alliance with house Stark/Targaryen in the next season? Who knows… But we sure do hope so!
Often seen with elaborate braided hairstyles while filming, it may come as a surprise to many that Sophie (who’s actually a natural blonde) has to have her hair dyed red for her role as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones. But what’s apparent is that off-screen, the actress is keen to experiment with different hair hues (as does her co-star Maisie Williams, who recently debuted petrol blue hair). And seeing as she’s currently taking a break from filming the next season of Game of Thrones, she still has a few months left to try out a variety of colours before she has to return to her trademark red locks. Hmm… We wonder what she’ll opt for next!
