Afropunk London 2017: The best hairstyles at the event

Fancy yourself a bit of a style maven? Then try working a 2-in-1 look like this Afropunk babe, and pull your mane into a pineapple updo with a pretty printed headscarf!
Not only will you have a fashion-forward style going on, but you’ll also be rocking a protective look, too.
Pink TWA
Eager to make your short natural hair standout at a festival? Then try opting for a bright pink dye job, which will give your TWA (AKA teenie weenie afro) all the wow factor of a bigger ‘fro!
Editor’s tip: If you do decide to give your ‘do a colourful upgrade, remember to invest in a wash and care system, like the Dove Colour Care Shampoo and Conditioner. This will help you maintain your pretty new shade for longer and ensure your mane is in tip-top shape.
Floral cornrows
Want to add a fun touch your classic cornrows? To soften up your look, we suggest using the beautifying power of flowers to give a feminine touch to your woven locks. Talk about your natural hair goals!

Lucky enough to be sporting an on-trend man bun? Easily make your’s festival-worthy by slicking it back and pairing it with a bandana of your choice. And there you have it: stylish strands in a matter of seconds!
Half-up, half-down dreadlocks
For a tried-and-true boho look that will keep your strands out of your face, try this ultra lengthy half-up, half-down ‘do — gorgeous, right?
Beauty bonus: This uber-stylish hairstyle works well for ladies with short and long dreadlocks, so everyone can get on board!
Vintage updo with bangs
Exude vintage vibes in your short afro hair with this beautiful scarf updo, that’s all kinds of glam. For extra style points, pair your pin-up-perfect ‘do with a swipe of red lipstick and get ready to rock ‘n’ roll!
Half-up space buns
When it comes to festival hair ideas, space buns and half-up hairstyles always manage to surface at the top. So, for this festival season, why not rock the 2 trends together and impress everyone with your hot styling prowess?
And if you’re feeling really style savvy, opt for a chic grey dye job and watch as all the attention falls to you! This raver-babe certainly knows where it’s at.
Golden afro
If you’re a gent with a big, bouncy afro, don’t be afraid to experiment with colour. In fact, getting some golden guy-lights done is a great way to revive your mane and make it feel stylish again.
Butterfly and floral box braids
When we saw this beautiful #afropunker with cute butterflies and flowers in her box braids, we couldn’t help but think she was channelling major Dionne Davenport vibes.
So, if you’ve always wanted to look like you’ve come straight outta Clueless, you know what to do… copy this look, of course!
Editor’s tip: Want to ensure your hair is moisturised while in box braid are taken care of? Then make sure to mist them with the TRESemmé Botanique Nourish & Replenish Hydrating Mist, to keep your hair in the best condition (and smelling great, too)!
Beret hair
Inject some je ne sais quoi into your mane with a stylish Beret hat, a la the picture above.
Instead of keeping the look polished and neat, this mega-babe has given her style a punk-rock twist, by keeping her beautiful curls undone and ultra-defined. Now that’s how you rock an au naturel look!
Editor’s tip: To really make your curls pop, work a small amount of the TIGI Bed Head Foxy Curls Contour Cream throughout your mane, for a seriously high-impact finish!
