We’re now nearly at the end of our The 12 ‘Dos Of Christmas series (sigh), but before we wrap up things tomorrow, we’ve still got some fun and playful looks to share – and today’s style, is a funky ’90s-inspired look! Yep, that’s right: we’re showing you how to create space buns with embellished hair cuffs.

Now, if you didn’t already know, hair cuffs are probably the trendiest hair accessory currently on the market, with so many designs and ways to rock them. So, if you’re ready to get a little nostalgic with this decorated retro ‘do, read on for our quick and easy hair tutorial!

The 12 ‘Dos Of Christmas: Space buns and hair cuffs

While this look can be rocked with any hair type, we happen to think that it looks especially cute when worn with curly or natural afro hair. Why? Well, because not only do the space buns act as a protective hairstyle for your delicate tresses, but your coily locks also make an ideal base for the hair cuffs to grip onto!

How to get the look:

1. Start by parting your hair down the centre and creating 2 very high ponytails, one on either side of your head.

2. Next squirt some TIGI Bed Head Papaya Leave-in Moisture Spray into your hair, and fluff out your ponytails.

3. Now it’s time to create the space bun shape. Working on one ponytail at a time, twist your hair around the base until you have achieved a bun shape, and pin it in place with bobby pins. Then, repeat this on the other ponytail.

4. Finally for the fun part! Divide your hair cuffs into half so that you have an equal amount for each space bun. Then, one by one, attach the hair cuff to small sections of your curls. Ensure that your hair cuffs are evenly distributed and that every area of your space bun is embellished!

And there you have it: and super sweet hairdo worthy of any Xmas party. Now go forth and show off your new ‘do – you’ve earned it!

Did you catch yesterday’s festive tutorial on our cute woven braided ponytail? No? Well, it’s not to be missed! Plus, remember to check back tomorrow for the final tutorial in the 12 ‘Dos Of Christmas – it’s going to be a good one!
