How to Cut Your Own Hair at Home
What You Need:
- A towel to wrap around you
- A big piece of plastic to be used as your cutting cape
- Clip
- Scissors
- Hair clippers
- Comb
- Baby powder
- Water in a spray bottle
Easy Steps in Cutting Your Own Hair
1. Wash your hair.
Before cutting your hair, make sure that your hair and scalp are clean. Use Dove Men + Care Refreshing Clean Shampoo to get rid of dirt and excess oil from your hair and scalp. This shampoo will also give you that presko feeling.
2. Cover up.
Get a clean towel and wrap it around your shoulders like a small cape. Clip it in front. Then, put a piece of plastic over your towel as another cover.
3. Comb and clip your hair.
Detangle your hair by combing your hair backwards while gathering your hair in your hands. Secure your hair on the crown of your head using a clip. This will keep you from cutting your hair excessively.
4. Start cutting your hair on the side.
Comb through a section of hair on the right side of your head and position the comb right above your ear. Then, run the clipper on top of the comb to start cutting your hair. When you’re done, raise the comb a little to cut more hair until you finish with the right side. After that, repeat the process on the left side and at the back.
5. Cut the top section of your hair.
Remove the clip from the crown area, comb your hair backwards then upwards, and position your index and middle fingers near the tips to measure how much hair you are going to trim. If you want to add texture to the tips, hold your scissors vertically as you trim the tips of your hair.
6. Powder and style.
Apply some baby powder on your face and neck. Then, style your hair using Axe Ice Chill Pomade. Scoop a small amount of this pomade using the tip of your index finger. Then, put the pomade on your hand and warm it by rubbing your palms together.
To create a clean look, apply the pomade on your hair by smoothening out your hair backwards using your hands. Brush your hair afterwards.
