Braids don’t seem to go out of style. From our grade school days even up to this point, this hairstyle still holds that certain sophistication and unparalleled feminine chicness. What’s even better about it is how you can mix it up and play with different braids, whether it’s just one ponytail or pigtails, having your hair half up or a total updo. In this tutorial, however, we’re breaking down the complex-looking triple braid hairstyle, which is really much simpler and easier to do than you’d think.

5 Steps in Creating a Triple Braid

1

Wash your hair

Braids can sometimes be too taxing for your hair, so it’s better if you kick it off by shampooing your hair using the right combo that would give it enough strength and also repair damage at the same time.

We recommend using TRESemmé Total Salon Repair Shampoo and TRESemmé Total Salon Repair Conditioner, which has a salon-quality formula that can repair up to two years’ worth of damage in just five washes.

Spray dry shampoo

If you’re styling your hair sometime after you’ve given it a good wash, you can also use TONI&GUY Matt Texture Dry Shampoo on your roots to add more volume to your hair. The dry shampoo can also give hold to your triple braid. After spraying, tease your hair a bit using your hands before proceeding to style.

Tie sections of hair

Take a section of your hair near your left and right ears. Tie these sections together in a half ponytail at the back of your head using an elastic. Then, tuck the remaining section of the half pony on top of the elastic to create a simple knot.

Divide and braid

After working on the top part, divide the rest of your hair into left and right sections. Put each of these sections into three-strand braids. Then, work on the rest of the tucked ponytail and braid it as well. Make sure to secure each of these three braids with elastic ties.

Combine all braids

Now on to the triple braid! Simply combine all braids and create a much bigger three-strand braid and secure with an elastic. If you’re feeling more experimental, you can add a hairpin accent or a stylish hair tie to complete the look.

Show off your triple braid

Now, you can face your day with an exciting hairstyle! The triple braid can be your go-to hairstyle when you want to feel presko on a hot day. You can also wear it to special occasions along with your favorite dress. It keeps your long hair styled and in place, so go ahead and try this hairstyle.

It may seem like a lot, but it only requires a little bit more effort to come up with this gorgeous triple braid. This works well if you have a special date or you’re attending a semi-formal occasion. If you need it to last longer, simply spritz on a bit of hairspray to keep all strands and braids intact throughout the day. Happy braiding!
