Braids for short hair are becoming popular. Gone are the days when people think that you need to have long, cascading locks in order to wear braids. Now, even women with bobs and lobs can wear braids, including the half up fishtail braid for short hair.

There are a couple of ways to wear a half up fishtail braid for short hair. You can mimic a basic half up half down with braid and simply replace the three-strand braid with a fishtail braid, or you can create two fishtail braids and join them on your crown. In this tutorial, we’re going to show you how to create the latter type of half up fishtail braid for short hair.

Steps in Creating a Half Up Fishtail Braid for Short Hair

1

Wash your hair

Make sure your hair is healthy before you start with any hairstyle. Prep your hair by washing it with TRESemmé Detox & Nourish Shampoo and TRESemmé Detox & Nourish Conditioner. This duo cleanses your hair while helping replenish lost nutrients. This way, your hair is ready for just about anything.
