Braiding your hair can be exciting, especially if you’re familiar with the different types of braids. You have your classic French braid when you want to go for a timeless look. Meanwhile, when working out, a Dutch braid or a boxer braid is ideal. When you want a break from three-strand braids, you can try the fishtail braid. It might look intricate and challenging to do, but once you’ve seen how to do it properly, you’ll realize that it’s easy as well. Like a basic three-strand braid, a fishtail braid can be the foundation of more exciting hairstyles like the crown fishtail braid.

A crown fishtail braid resembles a halo braid. You can wear it on special occasions like weddings and daytime parties. It’s a gorgeous updo that can help bring out your best facial features, so read on to find out how to create this hairstyle.

Easy Steps in Creating a Crown Fishtail Braid

1. Make your hair soft and easy to style

Start by washing your tresses with DOVE Straight & Silky Shampoo and DOVE Straight & Silky Conditioner. This way, you help tame frizz and make your hair more manageable.

2. Divide and spray

Part your hair at the center and divide it into left and right sections. Add more grip and texture to your hair by spritzing it with TONI&GUY Sea Salt Texturising Spray. This will help make braiding easier.

3. Spritz hairspray

It won’t hurt to use a hairspray that can help you style and shape your hair. We recommend TONI&GUY Body Amplify Creation Hairspray to give your hair more hold, which you will need when creating the fishtail braid. Spray it evenly on the section you are going to work on first.

4. Start braiding

Take the section of your hair you’re going to work on first and get ready for braiding. To create a fishtail braid, divide this into two smaller sections. Then, take a part from the left section, cross it over, and put it in the middle. Take another part from the right section and cross it over to the middle. Continue doing this until you reach the tips and secure your braid with an elastic.

After this, spritz hairspray on the other side of your hair and repeat this step to create another fishtail braid.

5. Form your crown fishtail braid

Take your fishtail braids and wrap them around your head to create a crown. Secure them with bobby pins. You can use as many pins as you need so your crown fishtail braid will stay in place.

And you’re done! Now, feel free to add the crown fishtail braid to your list of favorite updos. Wear it together with a long, flowy dress to exude a boho-chic or goddess-like vibe. It’s one of the best ways to look fab in just a few easy steps. Enjoy!
