When it comes to partying, we have one motto: party hard, party pretty! Trust us, once you hit your 30s, you’ll be doing it less and less, and staying in on Friday nights, cuddled up in bed would start to be far more appealing; so you might as well make sure you’re doing it right while parties are still what you live for.

Now we don’t know about you, but we believe your hair can make or break your style for any occasion—parties included. So we called up our good friend Raiza Poquiz to help you create a look that’s perfect for your weekend rave. Watch our girl Raiza do the braided party ponytail in the step-by-step video tutorial below!

Learn how to do the braided party ponytail

1

Prep hair

Start by washing your hair with TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shampoo and TRESemme Keratin Smooth Conditioner so it’s frizz-free and easier to style

2

Section hair

Divide hair into three vertical sections. Then take the middle section and divide it into two separate parts so you can start braiding.

3

Do a Dutch fishtail braid

Create a dutch fishtail braid out of the two new sections. Take a smaller section from the outer edge of the right side, then cross it over to the left side. Continue doing this until you reach the end, then tie it with an elastic.

4

Gather hair into a ponytail

Take the two big sections from the sides and combine with the braided middle section to create a low ponytail. Secure with an elastic. Then, take a thin section of hair from the right side of your ponytail and wrap it around the elastic so it’s hidden, then secure by tucking it underneath with a bobby pin.
