Shoulder length haircuts to inspire your next cut

Bookmark this gallery for when you’re off to your next trim! Because shoulder-length hair is the busy girl’s bff haircut.

We like to consider shoulder length haircuts as a busy girl’s go-to haircut. It’s short enough so you can quickly rock “almost-short-hair” looks for days when you’re feeling experimental (like a quick faux-pomp); yet long enough to give you the illusion that you have flowy long hair that sweeps your shoulders as you walk (and it actually stays up when you pull it into a ponytail).

But it’s easy to think that shoulder length haircuts are relegated to a simple, straight snip above the shoulder. There’s more to the style than you think! So we’ve made a gallery of our favorite cuts to inspire your next trim.

Straight Bangs

Bangs are a great way to give your hair a quick makeover. If you already have a shoulder length haircut but are looking to drastically transform your look without going any shorter. Then bangs is the way to go. Request for a blunt cut that ends right below your eyebrows to better frame your eyes.

To make it easier to style your bangs straight, we recommend using a product that gives you smooth, frizz-free hair — like Sunsilk Smooth and Manageable Shampoo and Sunsilk Smooth and Manageable Conditioner.

Layered Cut With Scrunched-Up Curls

Scrunchy-curls are a great way to quickly add body and texture to your shoulder-length style. First, ask your stylist to give you a softly layered cut. Then to style, spritz TONI&GUY Sea Salt Texturising Spray all over your hair and let it air-dry for a few minutes (scrunch the ends of your hair every few seconds to get the texture you want). Once dry, roughly curl the ends of your hair with a 1 or 2 inch curling iron (depends on the size of curl you want). Split up the curls so it doesn’t look too done-up and you’re done!

Sleek & Straight

For a low-maintenance shoulder cut, opt for a cut that you can wear sleek and straight. So ask your stylist for a basic straight cut along the shoulders, styled with a soft center part. For every day wear, all you need to do is blow-dry it straight (don’t forget to spritz a heat protectant spray first — we recommend TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Flat Iron Smoothing Spray). Finish it off with a small pump of TONI&GUY High Shine Serum Drops for a glossy, frizz-free look that lasts all day!

Curly & Swept To The Side

If you have curly hair, then this is a great shoulder length cut to rock. All you need to do to style your hair is to apply a pea-sized amount of the TONI&GUY Volume Plumping Mousse. Apply it to wet hair, blow-dry with a diffuser to keep the curls intact, and then sweep a bulk of your hair to the side with a deep side part. Finish it off by adding shine to your curls with a hair gloss or hair serum.

Lob With Soft Waves

For wavy-hair girls, a shoulder length lob-cut is the way to go. It gives your hair the movement you desire while still being short enough to be easy to style in the mornings. To style the look, prep your hair with a good heat protectant spray. Then, blow dry hair straight. To add soft waves to your hair, curl parts of your hair with a 2-inch curling wand, running your fingers through the curl to keep the curl soft. Finish it off with hairspray and you’re good to go!

So which shoulder length cut are you ready to rock?
