If you’re not very adventurous when it comes to hairstyles, the idea of getting bangs probably scares the heck out of you. Bangs are stylish and really add character to your look, but the transformation can be really dramatic, and most of the time, you can’t really tell if you’re ready for that until you actually go for it. But, there’s a way to try this look without the commitment: fake bangs. Yes, these days, even bangs can be faked. A good thing for us, because hey, if you decide fringe is not for you, you can just undo it. No regrets, no hating yourself, no hiding in your bedroom for at least a month.
Faking the fringe is, to our surprise, quite easy. All you need are a few bobby pins, a pretty scarf or headband, and a few spritz of products here and there, and tah-dah—you have fake bangs that look like the real thing! So check out our step-by-step instructions below and start rocking the perfect fake bangs.
P.S. You won’t find this in Greenhills!
How to create fake bangs
Repair split ends
This look would require you to expose the ends of your hair, and if it’s not healthy, chances are you’ll be showcasing your split ends, too. Repair the damage with TRESemmé Split Repair Shampoo for noticeably smoother, effortlessly manageable hair. With regular use, it repairs up to 88% of split ends and keeps working to fix the damage as it occurs. Follow up with TRESemmé Split Repair Conditioner.

Create a half-updo
Part your hair from ear to ear and gather that top section to create a high ponytail. Secure with an elastic.

Flip it!
Take the ponytail you just created and flip it forward, toward your face. Keep it in place with bobby pins. See your fake bangs coming together? Great! You’re almost done!

Style it
Choose your look: side swept, full bangs, curtain—play around with your new fake bangs and see which style looks best on you!

Create an updo and throw in a cute headband
This step is the key to a seamless look featuring your realistic-looking fake bangs. To hide all trace of fakeness (i.e bobby pins and elastic), place a headband over your fringe then take the back section of your hair and put it up in another high ponytail. Tease the ends with a fine-tooth comb, then flip the ends over to blend into your first ponytail. Use bobby pins to secure your hair in place.

Set it with hairspray
You don’t want your hairstyle to come off in the middle of your day and reveal your secret! Make sure everything stays in place by setting it with TRESemmé Freeze Hold Hairspray.

Now you can give bangs a test drive before you go for the real thing. Genius!
