Jeline Catt’s Hair Care Secrets
First things first, can you walk us through your hair care routine?
“For my hair care routine, I do a weekly deep conditioning treatment for my hair so that it stays healthy, soft, and manageable. And since I have blonde hair, I also use purple shampoo—not every day ‘cause that would be too intense. I would leave the purple shampoo [on my hair] for five to ten minutes so that it really takes out the brassiness in my hair. That’s why it’s like pretty grayish-silver right now.”
Editor’s tip: Silver and platinum blondes need extra care from hair products with purple formula to keep out the brass tones. TRESemmé Pro-Color Series Blonde Brilliance Shampoo and TRESemmé Pro-Color Series Blonde Brilliance Conditioner do exactly that. This duo also has jojoba oil to help you keep your blonde hair moisturized and shiny.
Right! Your silver hues are very vibrant.
“Thanks! After the shower, I would apply leave-in conditioner, serums—actually a lot of hair care products because [when you have] bleached hair, your hair becomes a little more susceptible to damage so you really have to take care of it like a baby.”
Editor’s tip: A little help from a leave-in conditioner like Cream Silk Standout Straight Leave-On Cream is great in keeping your hair moisturized and frizz-free after washing it.
That’s a lot of products, indeed! Which one would you call your best friend?
“Maybe a deep conditioning mask because it really keeps my hair in a good condition.”
Do you love coloring your hair?
“Yeah, I do!”
What other colors have you tried?
“I’ve had different shades of brown. I’ve also done black and different shades of blonde as well.”
Which one is your favorite?
“I think the one I have right now! I’ve always wanted to have silver hair and it looks really cool. It’s also kind of an ombre as well!”
What’s your favorite hairstyle?
“It would have to be the textured, effortless beachy waves. I always sport this look in all of my photos!”
How about on bad hair days, what do you do?
“On bad hair days, I would just tie my hair up in a ponytail or a bun. Keep it clean so it doesn’t look like I’m having a bad day.
Editor’s tip: Hairspray will help you achieve smooth hairstyles, especially on bad hair days. Use TRESemmé Salon Finish Extra Hold Hairspray to nail clean and polished looks.
Is there any hairstyle you regret copping?
“I think it would be the full-on bangs—like really thick full-on bangs—that really didn’t look good on me. The feathery fringe looks a lot better but I tried the full-on bangs [and] it was not cute.”
Why?
“I think because of my face shape. My face is kind of round so it kind of emphasized that. I looked like a dumpling!”
Do you have any hair advice to Filipinas?
“Don’t skip hair care products. Before, I wouldn’t really use hair care products like heat protection and all that. I would just use hot tools on my hair without any protection. [If] I would compare the state of my hair back then [with its state] now that I use a lot of hair care products, my hair is now in a much better state. So definitely use hair care products. Don’t take it for granted.”
Editor’s tip: Before blow-drying, curling, or ironing your hair, make sure you spritz TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Flat Iron Smoothing Spray on your tresses. This product protects hair from heat damage and even helps tame frizz!
How to Take Care of Your Hair Like Jeline Catt
Follow Jeline Catt’s hair care advice by making sure you have these products in your beauty arsenal.
1. Nourishing shampoo and conditioner
A good hairstyle always starts with healthy hair. We love TRESemmé Detox & Nourish Shampoo and TRESemmé Detox & Nourish Conditioner because this duo helps bring back lost nutrients to keep your hair nourished. These products also leave your hair clean and ready for any hairstyle you want.
2. Hair treatment
Weekly hair treatments will help keep your hair soft, moisturized, and frizz-free. Some hair masks even help repair damage and nurse it back to health. If you want to go the natural route, a coconut oil hair mask works just as well in moisturizing dry, frizzy hair.
Editor’s tip: A DIY keratin treatment using TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Treatment Mask can give you smoother hair without having to go to the salon. It can even help control frizz for up to 48 hours!
3. Hair serum
A drop of hair serum can do wonders in making our hair smooth and soft. No more dry and dull hair!
Editor’s tip: Keep a bottle of TONI&GUY High Shine Serum Drops in your purse so you can retouch on your shine anytime, anywhere.
