Head scarves are back and they’re chicer than ever! Wear it with your hair down or tie it flat around your head to accessorize an updo. Go for a silky one for a luxe vibe, or wear it bright and patterned for a much younger feel.

2. The wet look

The wet look hairstyle has never looked cool since the 90s, but as models sashayed on every runway looking like they came straight out of the shower, we instantly fell back in love with this retro style. To give it a 2018 vibe, give your hair a bit of texture and keep it loose and tousled instead of making it poker straight.

3. Tousled lob

We don’t think the lob will ever go away, and we definitely won’t mind having it around for eight more years or so. It’s a super stylish cut that flatters everyone and really looks good no matter how you style it—straight, curly, polished, messy—it’s a no-fail ‘do! We’re particularly loving its tousled version, which we see a lot on red carpet.

Editor’s tip: TONI&GUY Sea Salt Texturising Spray will help you achieve the texture and body that you want. Give your hair a quick spritz before styling, add some relaxed waves, scrunch and shake, and you’ve got the tousled lob of your dreams!

4. Black ribbon

Different hairstyles adorned by a single-strand black ribbon started to become popular late last year, and it definitely crossed over to 2018, with more charming styles that showcase the sophisticated charm and feminine touch it lends to any look. Why not create your own festive bow ponytail and look fab every time?

5. Jewel-toned hair colors

Wearing them on your finger or your ears are so last year (and also so expensive!), so if you’re going for a hot trend (or avoiding one that costs an arm and a leg), jewel-toned hair colors are your best bet. Choose from lovely birth stone shades like amethyst, teal, sapphire, or emerald!

Editor’s tip: Keep your hair color looking like a total gem! Make sure you wash it with products that are specifically formulated for color treated hair. We recommend Cream Silk Color Protect Conditioner—it gives your dyed locks enhanced vibrancy and up to 80% color protection.

6. Natural texture

2018 is a great year to shine the spotlight on your natural hair. Give your flat iron a break and allow your curls to see the light of day! Use a golf-ball sized amount of hair mousse on your curls (we recommend TONI&GUY Volume Plumping Mousse) to define and tame and keep it beautiful and bouncy!

In case it hasn’t reached your radar just yet, hair contouring is a combination of highlights and lowlights tailored to your face shape. The result is a beautiful face-framing effect that draws the attention towards the features you want to highlight and away from those you don’t want too much focus on.
