In the spirit of the New Year, we encourage you to achieve your #hairgoals by making and commiting to these hair resolutions!
Have you thought about your resolutions for the new year or have you given up and stopped making them altogether? Life resolutions are hard to keep, but luckily for us, hair resolutions are easier to commit to. And hey, we’re not talking about a major hair care routine overhaul. You can make small changes that would make a big impact–whether on the health of your hair or your overall look! We thought about it and now we’re sharing with you a list of hair promises you might consider making!
5 Hair resolutions for 2018
1. Make that cut already!
Have you been wanting to get that trendy haircut but have also been putting it off for the last year? Maybe you’re afraid to try something new or maybe making that salon appointment just wasn’t a priority. Well, it’s another year and it’s high time you finally pay your stylist a visit. If you’ve been wearing your hair long for quite a while now, consider trying a hot bob hairstyle. Or you can get bangs for a dramatic makeover without touching the rest of your hair’s length. Or at least get a trim—we all need a regular trim every now and then!
2. Try on a new hair color
New year, new color! It’s fun to welcome the new year with an interesting look you’ve never tried before. It’s like saying, I’m so ready for you, 2018! Okay, that was a bit melodramatic, but really, go for that color makeover. It doesn’t have to be a drastic change, if you’ve been sporting a dark brown hue, maybe go a few shades lighter, like maybe ash brown. But if you’re able to muster up the courage, step out of your comfort zone–something bright and loud would be exciting, like pastel pink or green or purple! Look at 2018 as the year of adventure!
3. Include a nourishing treatment to your weekly hair care routine
You expose your hair everyday to a lot of damaging factors that stress it out and cause it to become dry and brittle. It deserves some TLC and extra pampering. If weekly salon treatments are expensive and tedious, you can give your tresses regular DIY treatments. We use TONI&GUY Damage Repair Mask, in case you’re wondering what we have in our bathrooms. Its advanced formula cushions the hair cuticle and replenishes lost moisture, providing your tresses with hydrated shine and enhanced softness.
4. Always use a heat protectant product when using heat for styling
This shouldn’t be a resolution for this year—it should be a resolution for life! Never let your flat iron, your blow dryer, and your other heated tools touch your strands without applying a heat protectant product on them first. We recommend TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Flat Iron Smoothing Spray.
Not only does this product shield hair from the damaging effects of heat styling, acting as a barrier between your hair and the high temperature of your heated styling tools, it also seals in shine and reduces frizz. What else could you ask for?
Your hair is your BFF, show it some extra love–there’s no better time to do it than now!
Here’s to a healthier, more beautiful hair! Happy new hair!
