Hair treatments for long hair often involve nourishing and moisturizing remedies. Whether it’s a natural, DIY treatment or a store-bought hair mask, treatments for long hair aim to give you smooth, soft, and frizz-free hair.

If you’re on the naturals side, we’ve compiled three easy DIY treatments that you can do. Don’t worry, because you only need to look in your kitchen to find the ingredients you need. Some don’t require any special concoction at all! Check these out.

You’ll need:

  • Coconut oil
  • A bowl of warm water
  • Towel
  • Clip
  • Shower cap
1

Warm the oil

Put the coconut oil inside a glass bottle. Immerse the bottle a bowl of warm water. This will make the oil smoother and easier to apply. Leave the oil immersed for approximately 15 minutes.

2

Prep your hair

While waiting, detangle your hair using your fingers or a wide-tooth comb. Then, divide your hair into two horizontal sections. Clip the upper section.

3

Apply the coconut oil

Pour the coconut oil into a small bowl. Dip your fingers in the oil, rub the oil in between your palms, and apply it to the unclipped section of your hair.

4

Continue

Remove the clip from the middle and upper sections of your hair. Massage the oil through your scalp and apply it to your hair from roots to tips.

5

Leave it on

Cover your head with a shower cap for one to two hours to allow the oil to be absorbed. Then rinse and shampoo your hair as usual. If you have damaged hair, use Dove Intense Repair Shampoo. It penetrates your strands to help make them healthier and stronger. It also helps repair visible signs of damage and makes your hair more resistant to breakage.

6

Done!

Let your hair dry naturally. Comb to it make it look neat, and say hello to softer and smoother hair!

You’ll need:

  • A smooth towel
  • Wide-tooth comb
  • Hair ties
1

Dry your hair

Pat your hair dry using a smooth towel. Avoid rubbing your hair against the towel to prevent frizz and damage.

2

Detangle your hair

With a wide-tooth comb, start detangling the tips of your hair. When you’re done, move up and start combing from mid-lengths until you can smoothly comb from the roots.

3

Tie your hair

Divide your hair equally into two vertical sections. Tie each section loosely using a series of hair ties. It’s just like tying your hair into low pigtails.

4

Leave it overnight

Keep your hair like this overnight. When you wake up, remove the hair ties. Now, you have straight hair without having to use a flat iron!

You’ll need:

  • Clips
  • Coconut and olive oil
  • Moisturizing shampoo
1

Section your hair

To make it easier to apply the hair treatment, divide your long hair into top, middle, and bottom sections. Clip the top and middle sections.

2

Start with the moisturizing treatment

Apply the coconut and olive oil mixture to the bottom section of your hair. Make sure that the oil coats your strands from roots to tips.

3

Repeat

Do the same to the middle and top sections. When you get to the top section of your hair, apply a little amount of oil to your scalp to combat dryness and flakiness.

4

Cover and rinse

Wrap your hair using a smooth towel that has been soaked in warm water for 30 minutes. Then, rinse off the oil using warm water.

5

Shampoo your hair

Gently massage your scalp while shampooing your hair with TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shampoo. With argan oil and keratin, this shampoo cleanses your hair while calming frizz, taming flyaways, detangling your hair, making hair smooth, and adding shine. Then, rinse your hair with cold water.

6

Dry and brush

Let your hair dry naturally, then make it smooth by brushing it with a paddle brush.

With these DIY treatments for long hair, you’ll have an easier time making your hair smoother and softer. Try these on a weekend afternoon to pamper yourself while giving your hair some TLC. Enjoy!
